Asking for 'home' addresses from subscribers but feel Shy! any suggestions? ...(Matt Bacaks method)

If you want to get your customers home addresses,(after they subscribe for your free report), to post them something in the post, then what is the best way to get their home address, with the feeling they wont give it ?

I know it can be done on a new web form, but just need to know ways to increase the chance of them to give the address.

I mean from subscribers of freebie seekers from a squeeze page (rather than buyers who have purchased)

how to you get from asking for their email address via a squeeze page

to sending them an autoresponder email series, to asking for their address (on a form)?

Many subscribers might NOT give out their home address , as they might not feel comfortable.

can you suggest any strategies/tips to 'increase the chances' of them giving their home address to you ? (even if it means sending some emails out to them first)

What to offer ?
I want to offer a Free printed book, (where they don't pay anything)

Matt Bacak, it would be great if you read this.

Forget about it, they are never going to give you their home addresses, even if they do just to fill up the form to get the freebie, the address won't be correct in that case.
Even if you build good relation with old list members, still no one prefers to give out home address.

I rarely give out my home address, and when I do it's to very trusted sites like Amazon. Something like this will be very difficult and you'll have to cultivate a very, very trusting relationship with your subscribers. Even then, you'll be lucky to get a handful.

    David,
How does your having their address help them? What are you going to send them via snail mail?

I think I've given my address away ONE TIME to an Internet marketer, and they were offering to send me a free book.

In all other circumstances, I wouldn't even consider it.

    :]

So, offer something of real value, and maybe, just maybe they'll provide it to you.

(Maybe a physical book you've written or something).

    A home address?

    That's something new.

You could create a new field for it,

but then you'll have to "reward" them for it.

I know how to do it, but am just asking about the marketing element of it.

asking how to ask for the address,? to post parcels out.

even if it means building trust for many months,of loyal subscribers.

I ask for, and receive, physical mailing addresses every day in my offers.

    How? Two different, unrelated ways:

1). In my tax practice, I offer a free copy of a book to be shipped to them -- they don't even pay shipping.

2). In my IM business, one of my up front offers is a two month trial of my continuity program - $9.95 or $19.95 for the first two months. This requires them to give me their billing address for the credit card payment. Yes, I do this as an initial offer to certain first-time visitors as a list building offer.

I do a substantial amount of direct mail lead generation and prospect follow up. People that give me their address are MUCH better customers in the long haul, even though I lose a lot of potential opt-ins on the front end. I've split tested this, and for my two businesses, it's worthwhile.

    Many Subscribers?

None of them is gona give you a home address.
Don't ask for home addresses otherwise you will lose all your subscribers [you will look very suspicious to them]

People dont share such information on the web unless they really need to such as with Amazon, ebay or bank etc [and in your case they wouldnt need to share it]

    sorry but thats the reality

Just do a free plus shipping offer. This means the person gets a free printed book sent to them and all they pay is the shipping. They obviously have to enter their mailing address during checkout.

The only way people will give you their mailing details is if there is a valid reason for doing so. They won't just enter them into an optin form.
