Here are a few tips that would be of immense to you to help you sell your site on Flippa:

    • Be sure that you are selling a website that is making you money. Simply said, you cannot sell your site for 1000 bucks if you are getting just around 3 to 5 visitors in a day.

    • Respond ASAP to the comments that you get. If people want to buy your website they will send you a question, via comments. Be sure to respond ASAP. If you wait for a few days and then respond, it is definitely going to affect your sales process.

    • Do not overdo the description of your site. This could make people feel you are desperate to sell your site and they will not buy it.

    • Be sure you explain in the description, why you want to sell your site. If you do not do this, people will feel that you are selling it as your site is headed for a dead end.

    • Put down your Buy It Now price very carefully. It must not be very high and it must not be very low either.

    Hope that helps you.

    All the best. Regards.

I would further solidify Ricardo's points above as the keys to making a good sale on Flippa.

The good news is that most of your sales will be solid - no refunds, no buyers who come back a month later complaining you sold them a lemon, and no people who refuse to pay after the auction closes. And you'll get the money that you actually deserve for the site.

The bad news is that you have to treat it like a sales platform, not an eBay like world of bidding war escalations. Each person that is interested doesn't just want your product (website), they want the comfort of knowing that they will succeed as long as they buy your established and already profitable assets. This means that you will have to sell each bidder before they will start running the price up to where you want.

I've sold a couple of small sites on Flippa and a couple of domains.

I would say you need to ensure you add verified Google Analytics proof, and if it's an AdSense site I'd give them screenshots or verified proof of that if possible. Also ensuring you have all your contact details added, like phone number etc. helps I think.

Don't try and rip people off and you should get a good price, I got more than I would have paid for the sites I sold.

I agree with everything Ricardo Furtado said, and would only emphasize his final point: Don't go too high with your bin price. People won't bid if you do, because they will assume you also have a high reserve, and if the bin price seems silly high to them, you'll ruin your auction that way, because they won't take you seriously at all. You'll give the impression that you are an "unreasonable seller", and you don't want that.

I've had my best sales on Flippa keeping the bin price at 6x the actual monthly earnings average, and I've had some people buy it at the bin price too, and that's the outcome you should be aiming for.

You can sell new sites, but they better have something really unique about them or you'll lose money, and make little profit on most. I know there are some WSOs on this forum that teach how to make it big with selling new sites, but I have only seen a couple of people who bought those WSOs try it and make good money that way.

Edited to add: Some Adsense sites, with some age, making very little per month, also do well for some reason. That 6x earnings bin strategy doesn't apply to those. I've seen some Adsense sites making less than $20 a month sell for several hundred dollars. People like aged Adsense sites I guess.
