Artist looking for Internet Marketing Wisdom

Hi,

I'm new to the site and was wondering if anyone can recommend good threads to read on this site in helping me learn how to increase web exposure and effectively sell my art online?

I've been using Facebook and Twitter for social media for pretty good exposure, however "likes" don't come close to equaling sales. My challenge is finding ways to reach my target audience online and get my site in front of them. If anyone can recommend threads I can study, it would be much appreciated.

One thing you could try doing is typing this into Google:

    site:warriorforum.com (keywords)

That should turn up all the info you need. I'd help you further, but I'm new here myself!

Do you know who your audience is?

Do you know where they hang out online?

If you can answer these questions, putting your art in front of the right people should be relatively simple.

Check out FineArtAmerica.com. For $30 a year, they will sell your artworks directly or on a poster, etc - depending on your medium, including framing, shipping, etc.

Nice helpful community and you get your own artist's sub-page. They help you get seen in search engines and can link your artworks directly to Facebook. And they have mail list systems and other tools. And you can promote to other members by enrolling in contests and participating in their forum discussions. Unlike other "art portals", FAA has more buyers than artist members.

You still have to market your art outside of FAA, of course.

    Hope this helps...

Social media is currently best way to reach your target audience, secondly you have adwords. Both can bring quality traffic quickly, mostly traffic from adwords is useful for massive sales.

      Hey Jason,

I'm not sure what kind of art you create but if its any kind of painting or drawing a lot of artists use ACEO paintings on eBay to promote themselves. If you are not familiar with ACEO's they are small, trading card-sized paintings, drawings etc that people create and then sell on eBay for a few bucks. But the main benefit is that it gives a wide number of people interested in art a look at your work and a connection to all the rest of your work, website, and such. Here is a link to some more info on this from Wikipedia Artist trading cards - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and in addition to this, try searching on ACEO on eBay for examples. Good luck!

Jason, could you at least post link to your side, maybe I or my clients or other warriors would like to buy your paintings? How about this for a starter? Merry Christmas!
