Rent a Site Similar Business Model - Full Idea + Plan! - You Opinion?

Hey,

Im currently doing my driving lessons and soon have my test booked up and if any of you saw my previous thread about me making a full report for my driving instructor on how to market his website and business effectively then that's a bonus.

However today i learnt that the leading company in the past week only had 7 clients and they have a load of driving instructors under their books and my personal private driving instructor himself is now not booking people up 4 weeks in advance like he use to. It seems no one has enough money for lessons anymore and/or the exposure of the great offers and services instructors are offering are not marketed correctly.

So i got thinking and took another look at the following thread about renting out a site to people.

Here it gave me the idea of setting up an authority site in the driving instructor niche and also selling clickbank products and amazon and ebay products too related to driving.

Then i would make it very intereactive and have a forum and chat room (possibly) where people could reccomend driving instructors etc etc and get some returning visitors.

I was also planning to sell ad space on the site to driving instructors for fixed monthly fee's and maybe include a review section where people could leave their reviews of instructors etc etc.... (would have to be monitored carefully due to fowl play by competitors). Along with a 5 star rating system for each instructor.

I would only be doing this in my area to start with and then could build it up nationally as after all most of the keyphrases are easy to dominate and once i have covered my county (state) then i could expand.

On the toplist kinda thing i would also sell premium listings which would mean you could have an image and bolded or a star or whatever to make it stand out further. Plus with a voting system that would mean that other driving instructors would want to promote the site in order to get their site more visitors and potentially more bookings and money for themselves.

Then i would have a sub section with helpfull documents/videos etc and promote some affiliate programs both for the theory and practical test.

Now that ive given you all my plan (which i hope you don't replicate or take) i need some help!

I was wondering if there was any script you could reccomend that with minimal edditting or something alike would fit this job. Okay if not everything is already in there then i can add it but i don't see how wordpress could work with this nor a static page as it needs to have alot of user engaging parts too.

If there isnt a script for this then how much do you think it would cost to get made! My budget isnt huge and this is a side project for now until it is all ready to go and i have dominated most of the keyphrases and got some traffic. But i feel confident that it will be easy to do (from research)!

Edit: It's will kinda be like a local directory but more user friendly and monetized. The same approach could be taken for loads of different business's and could even cover just the area in general and list all businesses and still sell ad-space etc etc.

Sounds like a great idea, have a look at Joomla (www.joomla.org) with one of the directory plugins.

I looked into joomla in the past and decided to stick with wordpress just because joomla looked a bit more advanced and like it took a little while longer but i have seen the power of it and its amazing. Will have to see what others suggest and take a look at joomla again!

I agree with what you have said. I have also considered Joomla and even tried it, but it looks over complicated and slow.

Stick to what you know.

There is always niche socializer, i have some licenses that i might be able to sell.
It has classifieds, chat, forums, blogs, place for adsense or adverts etc...everything you need.

As I said in the original thread - I think its a good idea. It's "got legs" as they say. Whether you can turn it into a successful business, of course, is something else again.

The thing is wordpress just wont cut it for that! But Joomla might do i will need to look into it more and see just how much it costs as i would prefer to get the ball rolling on this sooner rather than later!

Yeah that's the thing. Providing enough value to both people looking for driving instructors and also enough incentive for driving instructors to use it as their main base of marketing other than word of mouth which tends to be what most of them do.
