Be careful what you show if you do screen capture videos!

I recently watched a sales/information video from a marketer on this forum - and when he went to google to type something in - there laid bare (literally!) were the most frequent sites he visited.

Just be careful what you show your audience

Great point, Alison! I have watched online videos, webinars, or even just looked closely at a screen shot and have seen info that the presenter probably didn't want the general public to see. I am very mindful to hide what I want hidden.

    Thanks for the reminder!

I always find it funny when somebody makes a mistake like this when recording a video.

Once somebody actually recorded a list of his passwords that he had on a notepad document. Luckily for him, the viewers pointed this out to him and he changed them all quickly before anything bad happened

LOL I wish I could've seen that, must've been hilarious. When smart phones were first coming out (around 2006) and there was some kind of connection thing that we were trying, it ended up sending me all of his texts, which had some interesting content.

Actually I do that just deliberately. Barn Yard Friends and all.

Why? It gets people talking about you = free advertising.

If you're squeamish to put yourself out there in this business... then maybe this business is not the best fit for you. At least that's what I think.

I should write a WSO about this.

Much the same happens when phone numbers or URLs appear on the TV. Somebody is sure to phone the number or type in the URL. I'm sure this is good guerrilla marketing at work.

Mistakes are made my humans and it is okay to make them.
But the point is you have to learn from your mistakes so you don't do it again.
I think the marketer of whom you are talking might be new or he do not cares who sees his information.
But I think you are very generous to share this information here.
Be sure check the video twice or thrice after screen recording and before upload, that is all I want to say!

I knew one WSO that had used chrome to show different sites he used and a bunch of porn sites kept popping up.

He just said it was nothing because he had a course on how to do adult media buys via some of the larger porn sites. Which is a legit reason but still funny when the url pops up and he momentarily doesn't know what to say lol

Having your material prepared for presentation, and having a script to go along with that presentation, is something that is skipped by many beginners. I've watched more videos where the presenter is fumbling around like an idiot, then I have see decent and informative videos.

It's an epidemic of the unprepared. Toss together a quick product, and you'll see poor results. Take the time to put some effort into your work, and you'll see the difference in your inbox.
