This was MY BREAKTHROUGH in finally making money online

The first breakthrough is creating an online presence where you don't have to spend all your efforts getting regular traffic (creating content, advertising, self-promotion). It can be on a website (SEO), social media (VIRAL CONTENT), or Youtube (SUBSCRIBERS). For me the best way is to have such great content that it sells itself and gets shared on its own.

Once you get regular traffic, you can stop spending time trying to get people onto your site and start spending time creating products for them to buy. The other benefit is that a site that is good enough to generate views on its own will most likely do a better job at selling products than one where you spend so much time/effort/money to get people on the site and then only have one chance at selling them your product.

Learn how to create relationships with your visitors. If all you're looking for is customers, that's freaken hard.

I've been looking to start driving massive YouTube traffic in 2014.

    Any pointers?

One thing holding me back is fear that YouTube will terminate my account if I overpromote stuff.

I never bothered reading their TOS, and am not sure what would constitute a perm. ban. (I wonder if they're as draconian as AdWords).

I have a feeling they wouldn't appreciate aggressive promotion of Squeeze Page or affiliate products.

(I Remember a popular guru going on an anti YouTube campaign a few years back because they got banned, lolz).

This is NOT true. The real truth of the matter is that people (especially newbies) place too much importance on trying to get traffic to their websites instead of building a site that genuinely offers people VALUE.

Most people online are trying to get rich quick instead of building a real long term sustainable business.

You want to learn the secret to getting traffic? Dedicated Server busting traffic?

Write LOTS and LOTS of high quality unique content and articles. Do THAT for a few months and you WILL get traffic. LOTS and LOTS of traffic.

        Very True,

Stop worrying about getting traffic and you are gone.
Traffic is the backbone of any online business...
So keep worrying about traffic and you will be getting it for long term

Yeah be conservative when promoting affiliate squeeze pages. As long as you are providing real value to the YouTube community, then you should be fine.

Not true, there are plenty of newcomers to IM that don't know this, so it may not be new to you or I, but it's new to them.

You want to learn the secret to getting traffic? Dedicated Server busting traffic?

Write LOTS and LOTS of high quality unique content and articles. Do THAT for a few months and you WILL get traffic. LOTS and LOTS of traffic.
Not quite and who wants to wait a 'few months' anyway?

Whilst the secret to lots and lots of good quality traffic does start with offering high quality content and delivering value if all you're doing in publishing that content to your blog you will not get very far.

You still need to let people know about that content. Some sort of magic isn't going to happen and suddenly the world will know all about how great your stuff is and start flooding to your site.

You create good quality content then you get your ideal target audiences eyes on your content.

That can be done in a number of ways, via guest posting, a heavy presence on forums (where you provide similar quality topics with a sig active), blog commenting on relevant forums and linking to your own related topic, video marketing, SEO, social media presence, Reddit, content syndication, banner ads, PPC and a zillion other ways.

Do this and you can have tons of high quality traffic at your site near instantly never mind waiting a few months and hoping some sort of miracle happens and that people magically find it.

You need to become a master of paid traffic. It's the most reliable and scalable form of traffic around. SEO, articles, all of that stuff is like building a house on a beach. It will get washed away one day. Become a master at paid traffic and you will never be short of traffic.

Some may not agree with you, but I tend to agree 100%. Once I concentrate on using paid traffic, it is easy for me to make at least $100 per week. Now, of course, I've made more.

I've wasted 7 long years doing SEO and concentrate on getting free traffic. I could not even make $10 per month (this is not a joke). I've even lost lots of money using free traffic.

I've used solo ads as my main source of traffic. The key to success here is by having a killer squeeze page that converts and a good sales page. I can say that my BREAKTHROUGH comes when I stop relying on the big G.

I believe you are on the right track. Relying on "the big G" is similar to putting all of your eggs in one basket. The more you can diversify and use other traffic sources, the better your future looks.

I agree with the point that you need to offer great value. Word of mouth traffic is the best kind of traffic - which means you've created something people want to share. Create sticky content and be really really helpful to the people who you care talking to.

Knowing what they want, what their problems are, building a relationship with them and helping them find solutions is what makes you money online.

Create good content everywhere whether it be articles, blog comments, social media or other places. Get to know your audience off site and give them what they want onsite.

Then link back to your deep value filled content from pages that have already built interest in what you have to share.

This is how you get 8% conversions when everyone else struggles to get 1%.

Videos, images, info graphics, tips, step by steps, questions and worksheets are all very shareable - but building relationships using these tools is the secret to success online!

    Interesting signagure.

I agree with you that building relationships with visitors is very important, and you can get their e-mails too, and communicate with them regularly via e-mails.

I think a common problem is people try to get traffic the way everyone else is talking about and so often practices are outdated. You need to find ways to connect with real people so that they are interested in participating and visiting your site regularly. Then you need to be good at deciding when to pivot.once you have a growing readership you can work more with your existing clients and help them more directly, as well as get them involved in driving traffic to your site instead of you doing all the work yourself. Sometimes you get an idea that is very viral and you get a lucky break. It doesn't happen that often but it does happen.

When I got started, I spent countless hours (and money) trying to learn how to drive traffic using the various free and paid methods touted by the so-called gurus. The result was that I lost huge sums on money. Then I stumbles onto one mentor who gave me a couple of simple bits of advice:
      1. Start with one Free method and master it.
      2. Use the free traffic to TEST your offer.

Then she said "After you have those steps working well, you are ready to move on to other free and paid traffic methods.

I did that and finally started making small, then larger profits.

Even now, that advice sounds simplistic... but it worked for me.
