Incoming limits on number of emails a day, for gmail, hotmail, yahoo. Does anyone know?

Does anyone know these limits? For example lets say that I have 10k gmail addresses on my list and I want them to receive my offer in a very specific time frame, a day before Valentines day, is it possible to send that much through a paid service from one IP?

Are there limits on incoming emails to gmail, yahoo, etc... I know there are outgoing limits if one wanted to send emails from gmail, but I am curious if gmail imposes limits on number of messages going to gmail accounts from one sender a day?

    Why would you care about incoming limits? Do you want to send hundreds of emails to each person per day??? First you ask about sending limits and then about receiving limits...I'm confused.

    I think you are making yourself more complicated with your confusing question.

    There is no incoming limit but you can't send more than 100 emails in a day in most of these providers. Your recipient can receive thousands but you can't send more than 100. I think its clear.

      Actually, I think the sending limit is 500 on gmail and 200 on hotmail, yahoo and others. Never tried it, though...

    It is a very confusing question lol...

    If you have a list of 10,000 emails, you more than likely will have an autoresponder such as Aweber, or GetResponse...

    The emails will be sent from your autoresponder, not your gmail. So in this case you won't have to worry about any outgoing limits.

      Using an autoresponder, anyone of them, how many emails can i send to gmail accounts in one day, it is not unlimited, after some number of emails, gmail will start delaying them, what is the number? You cannot just send 10,000 to gmail accounts in one day from one IP/autoresponder.

      It is not possible to just click and have 10,000 delivered to various gmail accounts with one click instantly from an autoresponder or is it?

      "When an email is handled by the sender’s mailserver, it is relayed to our outgoing servers for "real" sending. Our servers communicate with the outside world (Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.) and update the email status when everything is okay.

      This process is usually fast so you do not have anything "queued". However, if there are greater volume of emails being sent, our throttling configurations can limit the number of emails sent to a certain destination over a period of time to protect your reputation. This is also done to avoid being blocked because we use too much of the recipient server resources. During this period, messages are in "queued" status. It could also be that recipient servers are down or non-existent. Then we try again on a regular basis to send the emails."

        Ah, you are talking about self hosted autoresponder.

        This question can be best answered by a Google rep.

        Simply send a support request to Google and ask. It might take some time and many attempts but you can get that question answered if you pose the question in the right way.

    Gmail is by for the best email I have used, you may want to try putting the names of your list into "gmail circle" which is at the top right hand side of your gmail as aqaintances and send out your message to them all at the same time.
    OR
    you try getting an auto responder also.

    as for as your 2nd question goes I have a gmail account that has over 10k messages so for there is no problem int limit of emails I can hold.

    i have used ar plus ( a self hosted AR) to send emails to a list of over 1 million in a day several times. i have no idea what percent were gmail, but i am sure it was a substantial number.

    typically what will happen is not that google will out right block your emails unless its look,smell, and acts like spam...in which case they will of course do what they do to spammy messages.

    What they normally do is allow a big number to hit inboxes totally normally and then they start queing the rest of the sent mails in a sort of holding pattern. At that point they wait an unspecified amount of time to see what the results/response to the first batch of emails they delivered for you gets. if things look normal based on their algos then the rest of the qued up emails are released.

    best i can tell, how many get through, que times and such are all determined by some sort of proprietary sender scoring system google uses to asses risk.

    if you build a reputation for sending good emails then the number of emails delivered straight away is increased...if google determines your messages are spammy or are marked as spam by your recipients then you can expect a lower number to get through, longer que times, and more outright blocks.

      Any idea what that "big number" might be? is it 500 or more like 5000 a day?
      I normally would not care, but I have a message which needs to be deliver in a very specified time window.

        i have no idea what the number would be for a new "clean" ip address. i have never tested that at all.

        google and other providers dont want that info to get out, and truthfully neither do any of us serious marketers. It would benefit the scammers/spammers much more so than us legit guys.

        my tests also indicate that send speed also seems to affect the limit that get through on the initial push. Basically if you bombard the google server with 10k emails a minute right off the bat from a new ip then i would expect you will encounter more resistance.

        if you are looking for a hard number, you wont find it...that i am aware of.

        but basically, the more you look like a spammer the more likely googles algo is likely to treat you as such.

    The best way to do it is to switch IP/Domains, it will be costly, so it's better off to subscribe to a professional email marketing service. If you start doing anything on your servers, most likely you will get blocked after 100 emails sent to the same ISP. There are techniques to follow, and they usually change every day. Also, it also matters how the email content is structured.

    I am a little confused by your question but am attempting to answer it anyway from what I understood.......

    From your auto-responder, you can set up an email today in the morning and have it sent out right before MIDNIGHT. If everyone on your list has a GMAIL account, I don't think that you will have a problem sending your email to them.

    By the way, did you buy this list or did these people really subscribed to your newsletter?

    If you bought this list of Gmail accounts, I think you will have problems down the road with GMAIL.
