Squidoo - Opening a can of worms lol

OKAY!

I haven't done affiliate marketing in almost a year - it's crazy it's been that long! I want to jump back in and supplement my income - hopefully getting up to $500/mon. between the mlm I LOVE and affiliate marketing (I currently make about $150 on average)!

I notice that from time to time I still have an amazon sale or two come through from my OLD squidoo lenses. The question is are these a fluke - or is squidoo still viable? I'm thinking about doing a lens a day to build up earnings for amazon - I really liked amazon last time I used it

What everyone's thoughts?

    Wow I haven't heard that name in a while, I started with Squidoo I made like $5 bucks but I had the option on Charity so I think it went to them I can't really remember. I'm gonna go check out Squidoo I still think I have the passwords on my password Mgr.

    In one of my squidoo accounts I made 0.08 in royalties in 2009 and $5.08 in the other account also end of 2009. All my lenses are labeled red.

    Old lenses seems doing good than new ones. It is also hard to have new lenses get approved today especially if your lense is just for promotion purposes.

      I have lenses on Squidoo that I put up in a sub-niche about 4 years ago and they continue to pay me Amazon commissions each month - and that's on top of the other sales I make every month.

      Squidoo was not established to offer lenses just for promotional purposes.

    I've dabbled at Squidoo and have approximately 90 lenses that get me 30 or so sales in an average month (3-4 times that for this years Christmas Holiday - last year was double). Some of the sales are through Squidoo Links, some through are through my direct links on Squidoo. Is it still viable? Yes, to a point.

    What Squidoo has taken away is free reign for those that were simply making long lists products. As many know Mother "G" slapped the Squidoo site fairly hard because of all of the lenses that consisted primarily of multitudes of amazon links while adding no real content.

    I still keep my toe in the water with Squidoo and site management has been working hard to turn things back toward their glory days. I predict the site will eventually see a significant rebound. Currently it's maintaining a solid presence, although way down from last year.

    For those that want to dabble in IM it's a great place to start. You won't make millions off of one page their, but where will you? There are a lot of nay-sayers, when they here the name Squidoo, but I'm certain many of those have been denied access because of abuses, or they have never actually given the site more than a few minutes of effort.

    I have created a Squidoo lens last week but it was not approved. I had two outbound links that linked to my blog. I am not sure where I went wrong.

    How do you guys optimise for squidoo lenses?
