Is this how you use the keyword planner?

Hi guys, lets say I want to make a blog post for example about the living costs of Brisbane.

is this how I would use Google keyword planner, as you can see 260 monthly services for "living costs of Brisbane" with low competition. would I work my SEO around that and I would have a greater chance of ranking my blog post higher than if I picked a keyword that has either medium or high level of competition.

thanks.

To be honest, the quickest way for you to learn is to go to YouTube. Search for the keyword planner tool and you will have plenty of videos to choose from. Add "2013" to your search so you get the most recent vids.

You'll learn much more and learn it faster if you do it that way ...

    Yes that's it!

Say you found a Keyword "living costs of Brisbane" then make a post about it.

Google ad planer shows the exact searches, so you can pretty much rely on that.

Go for HIGH competition kewords, this is the advertiser competition. If there is high competition for a KW, this means that it sells well.

Also you should search on google in a private session "living costs of Brisbane" and see which sites pop up over there.

If you see youtube videos, wiki sites and lots of blog articles = that's good.

If you see mostly domain names = that's bad.

That's just a loos idea of keyword research, you should go more to find good keywords.

You could go for HIGH competition keywords but there is a trade-off.

-You less likely to rank on the 1st page.

      Where your REAL competition is.

-Depending on niche, chances of getting traffic will be slim.

Go for low-comp. keywords that still get a decent sum

of monthly searches and rank high for that.

For low competition keywords what's the minimum that's even worth targeting? 500 searches, 1000 searches, 5000 searches?

At least a minimum of 3000 global monthly searches would be ideal.

No more than 13,000 competing website results.

No, it's the metric of Adword Ads bid. That is not the way to analyze to competition.

I just wanna tell you that most of the links in the signature are trash and/or a trap to make you pay!
