I'm creating a new blog site with a friend, we will post 1-2 new posts each day. I want the news articles or interesting stories with a video embedded.

what's the best way to gather news articles that are exciting, funny, controversial, etc? I'm going to sign up to mailing list of a few top news sites but I feel like I'm missing a lot and need your help

I use an RSS aggregator to keep track of all sites I want to keep an eye one.

Basically every blog and news site has an RSS feed. All you have to do is add the feed into you RSS aggregator, and it will automatically pull in all new posts and stories from that website.

And you get all of the posts in a single, easy location, as opposed to a ton of different emails.

There are a lot of RSS applications out there, but the one I like the most is Feedly.

    Hope that helps!

Try google news. Adding this to what you already have (News sites) will give you more than you can handle.

Major news sites usually have videos for the news, which you can embeds.

Using an news aggregator will also help you alot.

Try icurrent.com. They're a news aggregator and you can set up news "channels" as you like.

You can either go to sites that already specialize in these types of content or you can find hot trending content on Facebook or Twitter. Ideally, you should look for viral content that isn't covered by the major curation sites. Why? Doing so gives you a competitive advantage. If you are merely serving up content many other sites feature, your users don't really have a compelling reason to visit your site, right?
