Deal site software/WP theme?

Good afternoon, Warriors!

I have a business idea that I think might work, but I'd need to set up a website in a specific way. I'm looking at something like a deal site, but I don't want to deal with the money. I'd rather take a commission at the end of the deals. Something like a coupon, perhaps, that the buyer can download and take into the business and we can use for tracking...?

Does anyone have any idea what kind of software I'd need for this? Or do I need to give more info?

Thank you,
Mel

    Hey Keeslover,

There are lots of website templates or scripts that allow you post coupons like you mention. They are clones of sites like RetailMeNot.com or Groupon.com or FatWallet.com. Most of them aren't for local business though where someone prints a coupon that then gets tracked. You'd probably need to modify a script or template to get that kind of functionality. You'd also really need to think through how you would make sure the vendors you are working with record the coupons so you can get paid. It'd be a good idea if you can pull it off though.

I' don't know if I understand exactly what you need but I think so!

If your have a WordPress website, take a look at Woo Commerce, a free eCommerce toolkit for WordPress. I use the free plugin for one of my site and it works great.

    I hope this helps!

If you already have the deal made with the retailor, you can simply make a "online" coupon that gets printed out and taken to the store. Then you are relying on the store owner to be honest about how many coupons come in daily.

I kinda do the same thing, however there is no back end in the deal for me. I use the coupons as a value added promotion that I implement with web sites I build. We ( The store owner(s) and myself ) use the coupon as a way to track when and where the coupon came from and things like that. In my model, store owners are very honest about the coupon numbers. They understand that the more accurate the numbers are back to me, the more beneficial the coupons will be for them.

If your stores use SKU coding at the register, you can take a really obscure item such as a DirecTv receiver SKU code. and place that on the coupon. So there is an electronic tracking on the stores side of the coupons. Makes the possibility of the store owner cheating the system a little less easier.

      Hope that Helps!
