How much I would sell a PR4 website with $2000 monthly income?

Hi guys,

I am running an english website alone which sell a multimedia software, currently it is PR4 and the forum is PR 3. UV is 453 and PV is around 3000 based on the last 30 days analytics. The avarage downloads is 180 to 200 each day, it could generate 2 to 3 sales upto $50 to $80 daily, totally around $2000 monthly, and both the traffic and sales are increasing gradually.

Recently I received an offer of $25,000 to buy both my website and my software products source code, I checked my website price on seomaster, it worths around $21,000. I'd like to know should I sell my website for $25,000 alone? I definitely do not want sell my source code, but I'm willing to cooperate with the guy who buy my website to sell my software. If I sell my website, is $25,000 a reasonable price for a PR 4 website with a PR 3 forum?

In your opinion, how much it worths?

The general rule of thumb is 12x the average monthly income, so yeah, $25K is about right for the website alone. You can price the code and forum separately.

So you mean I can sell the forum alone with the website? But the forum is the under the subdomain of the website, I commonly update the forum day by day, it has around 4,000 members and increase around 30 to 50 day by day.But most of them are dead, seldomly post on the forum, only a few post questions about the software. How much I should quote for the buyer?

$25 is a mighty fine offer. If you've lost interest in the site, and have another project lined up, I say go for it.

    2x yearly income so in your case: 2000 x 12 x 2= $48,000

Lots of people here say 12x monthly income = $24K.

However, if I was selling a site, I would try to get at least 15-20x monthly revenue. Around $30-$40K would be a nice sum for me.

Counter his offer with a higher one. Bargain. Use http://escrow.com

This thread could help you value your site based in several factors. With that big amount, make sure to take care when dealing with people who are offering as some of them are swindlers and scammers. Always use escrow service.

I'd turn around and tell the potential buyer $50k site and code, and see what happens. You can keep the site another year and make the $25,000 he is asking. Its not like you are losing anything if you don't sell it.

I received the offer email on the Christmas eve, and I just curious how much I could sell in the future, I think my website has great potential in the beginning of the next year, so I may pay more efforts on the on page SEO and keyword ranking as well as the developments on software features. Thanks for all of you advices.

There seems to be one major thing that isn't being discussed in this thread...

I am running an english website alone which sell a multimedia software, currently it is PR4 and the forum is PR 3. UV is 453 and PV is around 3000 based on the last 30 days analytics. The website is PR4 with decent traffic and daily sales. The value of this alone is worth more than everyone in the thread has estimated, save the 48k which may be a bit much... But!

A forum on a sub-domain, which requires selling WITH the website, is a PR3 in itself. It doesn't sound as though the forum is currently monetized, but your membership count is the current size of your "List". You have direct contact with the members, both through the forums and through the email they signed up with! This forum only adds to the price of your website, and without any sales easily triples the value of your website. You'd be selling not only your website, but your list as well... One that's proven to earn.

Then of course, you have the software that you are selling. This in itself has a value that is added to the total value of your website. If your website and forums revolve mainly around this software, it will be required for the website buyer to pick this up as well.

It's much more than the people of this thread have pointed out, and I suggest you hold on to what you have.

There are various things to consider while finding the true value of a website like how much site is making, the niche future sales and mainly how this site is value in next 5 years so just selling your website multiplied be some x years is not correct way to find value.
You can find some appraisal service which will calculate the actually value of your website.

      Hi holder21,

I do not really think that much about the future value of my website, I'm just curious about the estimated price from the day I received the $25K buying offer. But I do want to do my best to increase the website niche pagerank at the beginning of the new year.

Are you trying to dump it because you lost traffic due to having your fake Wikipedia page deleted? If so you need to let people know it was making that much and don't try to dump it without being honest about thd traffic...

Of course it isn't a fake page, I have no idea about how to write it correctly suit for their requirements and the wiki page brings me around 30 visits a day. I need it rebuilt for both the traffics and high PR from wiki pedia.

Being as your site is worth at least 25k have you considered a website broker? They can sell a site for up to 3 years revenue, which would turn out to be significantly more that your first quote.
