Hello,

I am a newbie in this forum and I need some help from you guys. I am running this website: inspirationalvideoclips.org and recently I have been approached by a company that wants to buy advertisement space from me.

I don't have any idea how much to charge. Is there a way to calculate how much to sell the ad space? Could somebody please advise me on how much to charge?

A couple of things you need to know:

How many people do you get on your site per month?

How many impressions will they get?

What position will their ad be on?

Top? Side? Bottom? Is it a text ad? Display ad?

Are they targeting the right demographic? (Is your quantcast.com demographics the same?)

I'm asking this because you want to make sure they are subscribing to your adspace and will be around for a while. If they aren't getting results, they might not be around at all.

You don't make money unless they get results - and so if they are siphoning traffic off your site, and they're not getting results from that, then they might not be getting ad space from you for long.

You want this to be a mutually beneficial relationship.

I understand and agree with all your questions but I think that the company that wants to buy ads space in my website has already answers for all these questions. They were the once who approached us and asked to buy ads space. I guess they will make an offer and I will not know if this is right or not.

Could you (or somebody) advise me with some estimates on ads prices in different parts of my website?

How did they contact you? email?

If so, there is a chance it is a scam. I get them all of the time. You should do a Google search on the email address, email subject or other information from the email and see if others have posted questions about the same email.

I hope it really is a company that wants to advertise with you, but check to make sure.

To me this looks like free advertising of your website and finding some real advertisers, because you obviously made the story up.

Go to BuySellAds and see what other site owners with your similar niche site are charging. Then list your site there and see if you can get any other advertisers interested in advertising on the site. This might be the start of a very good thing.
