Advice on how to get traffic to a funny picture site?

I'm seeking advice on how to get traffic to a funny picture site. I understand link building and all that. I'm looking for other ways to get traffic to a funny picture site. Also, the amount of traffic that your suggestion can deliver. I understand that it is somewhat subjective. I guess what I'm looking for are ways to get traffic that don't include link building or guest post trading.

      I am doing link building. I'm looking for additional ways of getting traffic.

        Then you can try advertising your website somewhere. For exmaple you could create a FB page for your website

    Funny picture sites would do great with social media. Utilize any social media platforms you already use and send your friends and followers to your funny pic site. Not sure how you are monetizing your traffic on your site, but from experience social media users don't like to buy things they like funny moves and pics, and also very informative content.

    Use sites like stumble upon, facebook, Google+, newsvine, linkedin, and so on to get people to see what you have on your site. Use these platforms as a precursor to the content on your actual site.

        Create a Facebook Fan Page about funny pictures and start sharing. It's no more complicated than that. To accelerate growth, buy 'Likes' using Facebook Ads.

    Buy forum posts at the largest English-speaking forums on the planet. Since you're pushing funny pictures, this shouldn't get much resistance. Everyone can appreciate a laugh--as long as your database of pics are actually funny.

      If you've got the right material and you submit to some of the high profile, mega traffic blogs (there are dozens of them out there), you can achieve million of views every day . . and subsequently tens of thousands of hits.

      You HAVE to have something that sets you apart from others. If you want that volume of traffic and your content is not good enough, buy it in. It's also a simple matter to monetise the site.

    If you want to try free then you can go for stumbleupon and pinterest
    Just start submitting your pages on stumbleupon and pinning your pins on pinterest,
    If you are lucky you might see a good surge of traffic
