Don't know about this. It just lets you integrate Twitter. Skype is in bigger danger probably..

Will be interesting to see the effect this has on email marketing.

Unlike social networks, google wave is a decentralized protocol, just like email. This means anyone can create their own server and host waves.

That tool looks very robust. The fact that it is open source is awesome. I almost have to think that this in someway is trying to compete with Twitter. It should be cool to see how this turns out. I also wonder where they will be sticking PPC ads at. In between wave messages?

I watched about 20 minutes. 2 hours is too long to watch a tech conference. Last time I watched one of those it was the Bill Gates-Steve Jobs Pow Wow. I'll have to watch it some other time. Too much to do today.

Can anyone explain what is google wave in a couple
of sentences, so I don't have to watch 40 minutes?

I don't spend that much time on watching anything, but
    educational content...

I am scared at how much I use Google's products:

    Gmail
    Apps (three businesses)
    Reader
    Voice
    Documents
    Notebook (since switched to Evernote)
    Sites
    Calendar
    Chrome

I love 'em all, and I realize all my eggs are in one basket.

    Not good?

Twiter, Skype, Email, text editor, image gallery, syndication with blogs, awesome spell checker... Jesus Christ, they created a great tool, should become very popular. Plus since it allows other developers add their apps to it, possibilieties are huge with this...

Quite possibly, literally everything we do on the net will be under Google Wave. Now I feel outdated, oh well....

Web 4.0 = Google Wave, it's too good it skipped a number!

Yeah, I think Google itself will become single biggest company in the world one day, if they keep producing such things...

This really does look amazing. I didn't think I'd be as impressed as I was. I can't wait for it to actually be available. It'll take a little getting used to in order to think of things in terms of "waves" but I think this will quickly become the norm once it's released. Already gotten some ideas of how I could use it in a site I'm launching in the Fall.

Thanks for starting this thread! I'd seen the video on Google but wouldn't have watched it if you guys hadn't been so enthusiastic

Scared you are using all of their apps? Wow... I mean really wow. Does that remind you of anyone? Say... Microsoft. It's funny. Microsoft did it to IBM, and now Google is doing it to Microsoft.
