viral marketing campaign in travel niche

Do you have any viral marketing ideas when it comes to traveling niche guys?
My nature is more in IM niche, but since I think traveling niche is huge then I tried to make money in that niche (and I succeeded to make money on that niche, not much money yet)...
What type of viral marketing (tell a friend) Do you should be done in traveling niche?
thoughts?

thx

Travelling niche is huge if you really do travel. take some interesting and unique high quality photos of places and post it in facebook or in your blog. people love interesting natural and travel photos.

Create a killer fan page with high quality photos and get some likes. Also try PPC if you know how to do it. It will bring instant traffic.

I think you can use "tell-a-friend" in a wide variety of ways. Both on site and in your email newsletter. Also a free viral ebook is a great way to get more leads too. Also, consider starting your own pay-per-lead affiliate program.

First of all let me just say that I don't see how "Travel" is a niche. There are over 100,000 hotels in the USA alone. The Hilton has 3400 properties world wide. That in itself defies "Niche"

That being said, Travel is one of the few "Industries" that the male demographic has purchase decision power. My personal thinking is if you want pictures, you can go visit flicker or something, You need a location specific "Dummies guide to a romantic weekend" or something. Once you get a guy, uh, well you know, to uh, uh, make the gal in his life happy, he will share the info...

It depends on what or where you have targeted. If you can be the slight bit more specific, I used to deal with Las Vegas Hotels, and used to produce all kinds of that stuff. bachelor and bachelorette week end planning, romantic week end guides, event specific guides ( IE CES or Poker matches, boxing, etc. ) So you got the kids, all kinds of stuff. worked very well back in the day, as I am sure it would still today.

Just give me a clue as to your "Niche" and I am sure I can help you out with some ideas!
