[Question] Using a video on my sales page

Hi all,

I own a saxophone teaching website and my membership is run through clickbank.

I have a question about using a video on my sales page. I have been advised by other warrior members to shoot a video of myself playing the saxophone and talking to customers about what they are getting etc.

Now my question is: Will people be put off by the fact that I am very young? I have just turned 18 and I must admit to looking like a 15 year old kid. So will people just think, what does he know? he's just a kid.

Or will my skill on the saxophone make up for this when they hear me play?

I'd like to know people's opinions on this

thanks

Why not hire someone older to talk and you play and have the older person say I taught this 18yr kid to play in xx months and your sales script.

I would do that, however I am the one in all of the teaching videos in the members area...

I guess the visitors will find out sooner or later, just not sure if my face should be right there on the sales page.

These are a couple of our music instruction sites. One course is by a guy that is very young. Maybe it will give you ideas. The last one is less of a pitch and more like a sample.

address it up front... thats what i did and it has worked well.

just interrupt yourself in the middle of saying something and address what they are thinking...

Blow us away with a great rendition as soon as the video starts. After that, people will have no doubt. Massive proof will win the day. Most online guitar tuition websites I see give away a lot of free lessons to get people familiar with them. I'm guessing that would also work in your case.

The good thing about playing a musical instrument is that it doesn't care who's playing it. Personally speaking, I would not have a problem with it. If you were too young I might pause to consider if you have the teaching skills so I'd probably need a demonstration of it before buying. I can understand your concern but I'm going to vote for "show 'em what you're made of upfront". Obviously, the only real way to know is with a split test.

I'm offering a free first lesson. As long as I make that a really exciting and engaging one then I should be able to draw in a lot of customers. Thanks for your comments
