Not sure how selling the list works especially if one uses double opt-in like I do but
I would think you could make a lot more by finding some products along that line
and doing some mailing to them.

If you value the time and effort you put into building your list and the people on that list, I would not start selling or renting it. Additionally, if you did not specifically let them know you would be doing this, you could (check with a legal adviser) be in violation of spam laws. I have to agree with Trader here. Find some worthwhile products relevant to whatever information that you used to get them on your list and sell stuff to them.

Send a sales offer, send free info, send more free info, send a sales offer etc etc et al ad infinitum.

    Just my two cents

Thats a list you could make some money from, alot more than the price you would get for selling it. Work the list and earn a real income instead of a quick buck.

I agree, if you need money why not sell a product or service to the list.

I'm sure you would make more money that way.

Keep the list and start mailing to them. Honestly the list to someone else is worth nearly nothing for a few reasons.
    1. That list signed up for a reason to gain a product or something and your name was tied to it not someone elses who might buy it
    2. You said above you never emailed to the list. Many of those email accounts could be old and the person might never even read the emails when you send them out.
Its your list keep it no one else is going to want it sorry to say

I wouldn't be so quick to sell my list. That is a gold mine waiting to be mined. It is true what they say:

Article writers don't like it when people steal their content . I understand this .

Site builders don't like for your site to even resemble theirs . Who can blame them?

Clickbank affiliates are always searching for ways to keep their links from being compromised .

I say this to show how different types of marketers get upset when others do certain things .

As a list builder I think selling your list is worse than all the offenses listed above .

While a list of 1000 may not seem like a big deal to some I look at it a little different .
This happens to be 1000 people that trusted you enough to give you their email. They let you into their little corner of cyberspace . I am sure that when they gave you their email it was not with the intention that you would sell it to the highest bidder .

It is acts like these that make it harder for all list builders .

If you are not going to use it for the purpose that the people signed for , do everyone involved a favor and delete it .

By selling any list you're just creating more spam. Be creative and use it by yourself or create a JV with somebody.

    Hi Pete,
Your subscribers is your asset. I wish to help a bit further. Why not we figure a way out together, like a brainstorm session or something and see how you can add value to your subscribers and possibly monetize on them.

If you agree, you can send me the opt in page and also your website so I may figure out something for you. Also, pls tell me where does your traffic comes from?

There was Chinese Idioms that says 3 man on a path, there bound to be one we can learned something from.

    Tell me what you think.

    Cheers
