Best Payment Processor?

Hey Guys!

I am looking for some GREAT payment processor.

Right now I am currently using Clickbank, but It takes too long for them to ship your check and I am getting annoyed with them.

They have gotten far too "Picky" for me, plus they keep their hands in our bank accounts with all the extra charges & fees.

( Plus the Reserves they hold and the FEES they charge )

Long story short, I am looking to CUT the "Middle Man".

I may still use them for my AFFILIATES but thats about it.

Do you guys know of any solutions that allow for 1-click UPSELLS?

I considered using paypal but they don't offer 1-click upsells.

I'd appreciate any help you guys can give!

Thanks!

You can never cut the middle man....even if you get your own merchant account with a custom programmed payment gateway, the bank will be still the middle man, charging you fees. Unless you take cash from people, there is always middle men.

Well the bank would just handle the money, but they won't have their "Sticky fingers" in the transaction process lol

      Clickbank is a GREEDY middle-man.

      They are....

      • taking a 7.5% + $1 out of EVERY sale
      • taking money out for charge-backs
      • charging $2.50 just to SEND you your check
      • charging you a FEE for not selling after a period of time
      They are Extortion Artists!

Now I see why most of the Internet Gurus handle their own payments.

What do you mean with "just handle the money"? Even if you have your own processing account with a bank, they still charge you a fee for every transaction. That can be 5%, but can be also 10%, depends on the bank, business, your volume and many other things. And they charge a lot of extra fees, too...so clickbank is really cheap to what they offer. You have no hassle with processing the payments, you don't need stuff to do processing support(yes, with your own merchant, customers call you) and the list goes on. There is always pros and cons...unless you make $50-100k per month, having a merchant account is useless and you probably wouldn't even get one with a lower volume.

btw having your own merchant, you pay big penalty fees for every chargeback and if there are too many, the bank just closes your account.

My bank does not charge a fee on every transaction.

But even if they did, that would be TWO charges that I encounter, 1 from clickbank and one from the actual BANK once the money hits my account.

But yes Banks do charge extra fees, so I rather let them EARN the fees they are ALREADY charging than to let them AND clickbank subtract funds from my account.

It can be too much of a hassle dealing with them both.

But my MAIN gripe with clickbank is the payment DELAY.

If I have $2,000 advertising budget and I spend it all in 6daysweeks with HIGH conversions that made me $3,300 profit

I now have to wait 7 days (14MAX) just for CB to issue the payment...

So that means that NOW I am missing out on 7 days worth of SALES.

That can EASILY equate to $1,500 lost dollars on MY END.

Thats why I need a better solution

Well since I'm not marketing either two, I think paypal is still a safe bet for me.

I'd rather use paypal than take a risk with some third-party processor that may try to take my money and run.

Can you please stop your whining and if you have problem with paypal contact them immediately instead of posting ridiculous statement here? Paypal worth billions of dollars and has been more than a decade online. Shutting down paypal is like shutting down 90% of online business. Are you sure that you are in your right mind saying that paypal will be taken down by authorities? I guess you used paypal in some illegal business that's why paypal disabled your account. Correct me if I'm wrong but I really thing this is the case.

Lots of post in here does not make any sense at all.
First, clickbank is not a payment processor. clickbank is an affiliate business like CJ, amazon, ebay, etc where people buy and sell their products through a middleman.

Payment processors are credit cards, paypal, skrill, payza, etc.

Do you use your bank to process credit card transactions? I don't think so, since you said they do not charge fees on every transaction. You can't compare receiving money from people by a wire transfer and having a merchant bank account.

But if you want to have no delay in payments, then your only option is to sell your own product and use instant payment gateways like paypal, wire transfers(not so instant, but 2-3 days are still almost as good), cash.

First of all - you really, really need to understand how the payment processing industry works - compared to the services that your bank is providing you with now.

And since I have 20+ yrs in the payment industry - I am pretty well qualified to offer some insight into the process...

First of all, your bank is not going to provide payment processing services such as you have with Clickbank or Paypal or any other similar company for FREE!!!

In fact - very few banks even provide direct payment services to small merchants - they will usually refer you to an outside company that they work with.

Secondly, all credit card processors are going to hold a certain percentage of the funds they receive on your behalf or delay payments of those funds in order to cover any potential fraud or chargebacks. Suppose you don't deliver the product as a promised or the product is junk and there are a lot of chargebacks? How does Clickbank protect itself (and it's other merchants in case Clickbank were to fail?) from loss, other than to make sure it holds enough funds from each merchant to cover the potential loss.

Clickbank is also offering a lot of additional services above and beyond simply processing your payments too, so you need to take that into consideration when you look at the total picture.

But the bottom line is all about risk assessment when it comes to payment processing. Companies like Clickbank and PayPal take the bad rap for how they deal with merchant/customer issues - but ultimately, they have to answer to the entities that are really calling the shots and it's not just Clickbank that is setting it's policies - and that's their own processing banks and the card associations, Visa/MasterCard, for the amount of fraud and chargebacks that come through their platform.

Getting a direct merchant account - and INTEGRATING your merchant account - are not easy tasks for many small businesses. That's why higher priced - but easier to use - solutions like PayPal, Clickbank, Stripe, 2CheckOut, all exist.

But there is a trade off in all cases.

But in NO case is your bank going to process your customer's purchase transactions for you for free.....

              Well Said Melody,

I might add that some of the things to consider beyond price is the level of service and experience in your industry.

For example I've been helping internet marketers for years with their merchant accounts and every month it seems that something within the internet marketing sphere comes under scrutiny either by the banks or the FTC.

With that said you want to make sure your processor is proactive and passing along tips and strategies to help protect your business.

Melody is correct that most processors do ask for a reserve to help protect from chargebacks but that's not always the case.

For example just last week I was able to get a client doing over 100k /mo an account without a reserve or needing to sign a personal guarantee.

Keep in mind this client is low risk as they already had a clean processing history & keep over 100k in the bank each month.

Happy to answer any additional questions you may have

              -Chris

You need to learn what "extortion" means, because it doesn't apply at all to Clickbank.

Here's how you do a one-click upsell using Paypal:

On your sales page, your Paypal button actually links to a second sales page. Here you present your upsell. On the second page you have two buy links. If the prospect says yes, the link loads the original item and the upsell into their cart. If they say no, it loads just the original item.

        It's crude, but it works.

Having said that, you might want to look into JVZoo.com. You can do upsells, downsells, have affiliates, and get started for free. And it goes through Paypal, so you get paid instantly, no checks to wait for.

I like paypal but it does seem like they will freeze or limit your account whenever they fill they have the right too ( for example - suspicious activities etc... ). I think a good way to prevent this is by calling in and letting them know your plans and that a large increase in payments will occur, worked for me a while back and my paypal business account hasn't been limited ever since.

Also the last time when i got limited which was years ago i had to send in alot of scans of proof of my identity, address, proof of my activities and other things, I personally think that helped alot with them knowing who i really am and that everything was legit.

I'm pretty sure it is certain ways to do it with all the abilities of making payment buttons and such but also you could try making another page that your thank you and no thank you page forwards to... Also search "paypal upsell plugins" on google, i heard that there were wordpress plugins out there that helps you make upsells and downsells with paypal easier.

I use Digital Access Pass plus Stripe.

Works really well. Stripe allows you to accept credit cards without the hassle of getting a merchant account. Plus, the fees are very low.

When plugged into something like DAP, you can do one-click upsells, downsells, coupons, etc...

    Cheers,

Works really well. Stripe allows you to accept credit cards without the hassle of getting a merchant account. Plus, the fees are very low.

When plugged into something like DAP, you can do one-click upsells, downsells, coupons, etc...

      Cheers,

      Kim
      Hi Kim,

In this setup, if you don't have a merchant account, then where does your money get stored?

is it must be stored somewhere yea ?

and how do you get access to it? (in otherwords take it out) ?

and have you ever done a launch with this setup ?

Getting an affiliate merchant account is not easy, but is possible. You can find a direct processor that would help you do so, just make sure they specialize in the high risk industry.

        Hey David!

With Stripe, your money is transferred to your bank account on a 7-day rolling basis.

We accept both Stripe and PayPal. But 70% of our payments come through Stripe. We just launched a new membership site at the end of December. We have 310 members now paying $39 per month.

        Definitely loving Stripe

It's easier and more affordable than having your own merchant account.

If you have any other questions let me know!

        Cheers,

        Kim

          Great results Kim.

What is the link to your membership site, can I have a look, thanks.

When opening a Stripe account, what documents do they need to be sent/faxed to them, to open a brand new account?

In your email series (any of them Kim) do you provide a curriculum action plan approach (with free instructional steps) so your subscribers follow ?

(I have asked it here, it would help thanks...

Good site, nice video and a simple payment page

which goes to the Stripe payment Credit card page (I take it? )

What if people want to purchase this offer, using just paypal? can they pay with paypal by clicking your order button ?

as you would be widening your range of potential buying customers?

because I didn't see the paypal button, to buy using paypal.

and for stripe payments to come in weekly (every 7 days), can the funds be 'paused/kept' held in your stripe account ? (for example if you do a huge launch, but want to hold the funds in 'stripe' for some time),

do they have this option? or they will deposit it every 7 days without any control by the user ?

We have a PayPal option directly under the 'Add to Cart' button

We have about 30% of our customers who pay through PayPal. But the nice
thing about Stripe (the other 70%) is we're able to do one-click upsells
                and downsells.

And you get a MUCH higher take rate on your upsells and downsells when
                they're one-click.

Otherwise - you leave a LOT of money on the table.

By one click, you mean this ?

                  Kims Marketing membership = $1

But If you want this 'additional product for '$100' then 'click here.

(then the recurring $39 per month)

so 1 click upsells mean when you click the click here right ?

Stripe also has a great FAQ section if you want to check it out: https://stripe.com/us/help/faq#merchant-gateway-etc

At first it looks a bit complex. But it's really not. Plus, it integrates seamlessly with platforms like Wishlist Member, Digital Access Pass, Digital Product Delivery (GetDPD.com) and a TON of others.

            Cheers,

why not use Paypal? That way you can promote your article content. Forgot to say it's also instant compared with clickbank where you have to wait ages for payment to clear. Obviously it means sourcing your own products

    Hey David,

They are shown the upsell AFTER they fill in their details on the shopping cart.

So once you have their credit card details and they've purchased the front-end product - they are then taken to the 'upsell page' with a special offer. We do a bundled package.

At the bottom of the page is an 'Add to Cart' button where they can add that to their purchase with one-click. It's automatically added to their order because you already have their payment details.

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers,

    Kim

      Yes it does thanks.

With stripe are they responsible for the stripe user/marketer to pay their taxes? and they do it themselves by contacting the tax people?

and if it isn't a merchant account, or doesn't store the money, then where to the funds of the customers get stored ? (before transferred to the bank account)

Yes - you still pay your own taxes

You should be able to find all the answers to any other questions you might have on their website. Or simply email them.

Kim, If we want to join your internet marketing list, what is the squeeze page?

do you have subscribers joining to an internet marketing list? or a traffic generation list?

          or both, separately ?

I'm using PayPal but I'm not comfortable with their services these days after I heard that there were several scams and inappropriate emails from fictitious email addresses (basically not from PayPal) who will report "errors" and other account related issues which are fraud.

Anyway, if you want more alternatives to ClickBank or Paypal this list might help you find the best payment processor in your business.

I'd wish PayPal made it seamless to accept credit cards for buyers without PayPal account. Otherwise it's not too bad.

    Thanks!
    Deon,

I've had great success helping internet marketers setup their merchant accounts and keep them.

I've had this success because I help educate markerts on how to protect themselves from charge-backs by setting proper buying expectations.

I also work closely with the banks to to see what scrutiny the FTC is putting on the industry to help keep you out of trouble etc...

Many of my clients do well over 6 figures monthly and have done launches that have exceeded million dollars.

Let me know if I can help you.

One size does not fit all. Some companies have better rates for customers with high dollar per swipe and some offer better deals for those companies who swipe small amounts often.

If you are truly paying 7.5% you are getting robbed.

I would be happy to look over your current statement and provide you a different option.

I guarantee that I will save you money on your statement or will write you a $100 check.

PM me if you have interest.

We have had outstanding service with paypal, but as someone else mentioned Nanacast allows for 1-click upsell if you're fine with it taking place on their server.

Otherwise if you want it done on your server Digital Access Pass, Login Frequency Marketing and Delavo are available.
