How to get loyal and returning visitors

Hi warriors!
I run my own personal blog. I have it now for about a month and actually made a dollar I've been trying guest blogging for a while, didn't really helped much with the traffic. Although I was thinking how can I make those visitors I do have loyal and make them return?
Thanks.

Create an opt-in form and start collecting the emails of your visitors. Each time you'll post something new you can email them about it.
Of course your content has to be valuable for them but that's obvious, right?
    Good luck

The only blog I've ever 'stayed loyal' to for years is TMZ. So, start reporting on the Kardashians...

    Build a list.

I've found that my returning visitors stay three times as long on my site and browse twice as many pages per visit.

    1. Provide tons of values, build a list.
    2. Repeat step 1 again and again.

Thanks guys, the problem is that I don't have any value to give.
I don't sell anything or teach anything specific. I basically have nothing to give away beside the posts on my blog.

Yes, you do AFTER you treat this like school. Learn a skill, share it with others. Kill 'em with value after you have studied Warrior Forum, and niche specific blogs, and after you take notes, and after you have applied what you learned.

2 analogies for you; going to college, or opening a cornerstore. Spend 2, 4 or 10 hours daily learning skills by studying forums and top shelf blogs, then take notes, then apply what you learned.

This takes a massive commitment which is why few people run a successful blog. I only generated upwards of 14,000 page visits daily and score 36,000 on the Alexa scale on my blog after studying, applying, taking notes and keeping at this game for years.

You have value to give....you just need to uncover it by learning a skill and thru diligent study.

      Hope this helps!

Very inspiring, although I'm sure if it suits me so much mainly because I just write what's on my mind. My blog doesn't focus on a specific niche or idea. Even if I will learn something, it would be very difficult to apply on the current blog structure.

Blogging about what's on your mind is a massive mistake.

Imagine if you went to Pizza Hut and the menu consisted of fish dishes. Where did the pizza go? Well, they felt like serving fish that day. Totally confusing, annoying and it means you will not be returning any time soon.

Same deal with your blog. Covering any topic under the sun confuses your readers, who leave by droves.

Think about why you buy stuff, or read certain papers, or visit online sites. You know what you are getting, something specific, and show up to get it.

So when readers visit your blog they have no clue what they are getting which is so confusing.

Visitors return and remain darn loyal if they know what to expect from you. Focus on YOUR niche to rock it out.

          Thanks!

First of all, just forget about guest blogging...there is just a lot of hype about it and even if you do manage to do that kind of thing, think of this...how many people are actually going to see your site - IF they do manage to see your guest post?

Now, if you want return visitors. You need to first have a real good niche and then you need to write quality stuff on that niche. In this way people will really keep coming back to read what you have written -

      Why?

Because they will consider you to be an authority on that subject!

      All the best. Regards.

Only your content will bring in loyal visitors. You didn't say what the niche is or what you are offering visitors in the way of information, but if it's something they are looking for, they will come. Having a social media presence and guest blogging helps to get the word out also, but in the long run it's going to be all about your content.

Your content has to be extremely rich and you must be in a market that's popular. Guest blogging really isn't the best approach.

    High quality content.
Give them content that they would easily pay for.
They will stick with you and anxiously wait for your new stuff.

Also encourage them to join your:
    email list;
    facebook fan page;
    twitter page.
So that you could notify them about your new posts.

I'm going to have to agree with the others who said that your blog has to be niche-specific if you want to treat it like a business (and make money).

What you have now seems like it's your personal blog where you share your musings -- only your friends and family will be happy to read it day after day.

If you go deep into a particular topic/niche, your blog can then attract the people interested in that topic. And then build a list by giving away a freebie, etc.

    It is pretty simple.

Go to the forums in your target niche and take their questions to make valuable content of.

The sure way of getting loyal return visitors is good valuable content and backed with real valuable product. Try putting up a survey on your website and ask your present visitors what type of materials they would like and then start calibrating from there

Just ask yourself, when would you return to a blog, as a returning visitor i mean?

Only when you find that guy interesting or you find that he is providing information which is helpful for you and which can help develop your skills or you can learn anything from it.

You need to follow these steps, learn and share what you learn. People will visit and if they like your content constantly, you will earn more $$.

Hope this helps, I wish you all the best.

    - This reminds me of the saying "A great campaign will make a bad product fail faster"

What you need to do is revise your current product (Your blog is the product). It is a bad product.

    1) Who the hell are you? (Not meant as an insult... who are you?) Comedian? Celebrity?
    2) Why should I care what is on your mind? How does that help me?
    - Are you a funny person? I'm a bit depressed are you focused on cheering me up?
    - Do you understand what I am going through? Does your post make me feel better about myself? Motivational?
    - Are you teaching me something I like or trying to make my life better? Can I learn something from you?

I see none of these things on your website. Honestly nothing on your site really grabbed my interest. As it is right now I wouldn't go back myself and, if you are honest with yourself, neither would you.

It's not just about you and whatever is on your mind.. Think about the many different types and groups of people out there. Think about their interests and what they are possibly looking for when they browse the internet. You throw a net where you know the fish are right? Same concept, stop throwing your net in your swimming pool trying to catch fish.

Try to establish a one on one conversation with every person who takes time to comment on your blog. Start a conversation with that person, ask questions, offer personalized advice. Why not even offer personalized email consultations to your blog visitors? This will keep them coming back, as you give tips and ask them to visit links to newly published articles which can help answer their questions. Anything that makes your reader feel special as if you are really paying attention to their needs is likely to keep them coming back.
