What do you think would be better to get more traffic?

I have been working on a membership site, and its my 1st official big boy site, (not associated with any affiliate or products)
So i was thinking of spending a couple hundred on promotion of the site. But which do you think is a better strategy?

Option 1: buying ads from some where such as buysellads and using facebook ect (so basically paid traffic)
or
Option 2: Buying a good affiliate software and letting affiliates bring in the traffic and a chance to spread the earnings around.

So any input will be appreciated.
By the way this site is kinda blackhat so im not too sure how easy it will rank in google. lol

      Hello Joel,

      Buying traffic is just one part of the story. The other part and the important one is which traffic source converts for you. Therefore you might have to spend a little more time in testing things and letting the numbers speak for themselves.

    I would do both. Spend the money on the first and get a free/low cost affiliate plugin for the 2nd (if you're using WordPress).
