How to sell ebooks to China

Hello all :-) Does clickbank in America let me sell products that are in Chinese language, or is there another way I can sell ebooks and video products to China? Is it even legal to sell things online to China, or do they have different laws over there? Thanks heaps for your help! :-)

I'm fairly certain that Clickbank does not allow foreign language products because they can't verify that they meet their standards (as opposed to hiring someone who can read in every language they sell).

You could absolutely sell it through another method, though, as long as your payment processor won't consider a lot of foreign purchases as a potential fraud situation (although most companies will be willing to work with you here if you just let them know ahead of time).

As far as laws go, you only have to worry about the laws here in a legal aspect. Whether or not the Chinese government will have issue with your product is, I suspect, something that their infamous web filters will either ignore or ban, but I highly doubt you would ever have a problem with it.

I've worked in China, I have a girlfriend in China and many contacts.

Simply put... just give up on the idea and it won't get anywhere worth doing unless you want to still try and learn from the experience

I have seen products in Spanish and German, so maybe they would consider a product in Chinese.

This is just a thought, but I would attempt to build an English version of your product first, get it approved, and then make the same product in Chinese using the same landing page and graphics.

Another thought would be for you to create the first Clickbank-Like website in China. Then we can all convert our products into Chinese and sell it through your service. I wouldn't mind expanding my client base in this way.

    Best of luck to you!

I would agree with this. Build out the english version first and then pay for translations to other languages you are interested in marketing towards. Are you a native Chinese speaker?

The biggest ebook selling platform is dangdang and JD, but I suggest you giveup since there's lots of procedures and the price is relatively low, more important, most Chinese people do not willing to pay for the ebooks. That's why kindle still do not have its market shall in China.
