Newbie Q Re Email Marketing

I have obtained a list of around 800 email addresses of customers who have bought cheap(ish) jewellery from eBay over the last 3 years and was wondering how to go about marketing some products to them. I thought maybe signing up to a jewellery affiliate programme then emailing out some offers, but have no website (which these affiliate programmes all seem to require).

I'd appreciate any suggestions as to what, if anything, can be done to bring in a few quid with the info I have.

Ta.

How did you obtain the list?

    Hi TA,

First I'd like to find out HOW you obtained the list. Did you pay for it, did you get these people to opt-in and give you permission to email them, is it a list from your own legit ebay business?

Keep in Mind TA, an email list of 800 is NOT a lot - even if you got a good open rate of 10-15% - that'd only be 80-120 opens or so. How many of the openers would click the links? Of those, how many would buy? People buying things on eBay are there because they want a good deal - so keep that in mind.

I'd focus on "obtaining" more emails in order to build your list even bigger.

Perhaps build a squeeze page and offer a free report on how to buy/sell gold for profit, or the best way to find bargains for jewelry online or something else niche related that your list might appreciate.

Sure, you can promote things via Commission Junction US (who has jewelry related programs), but 800 people on your list is NOT a-lot...

I am not sure if I agree with you. Given that these are (from what I can read what the OP wrote) verified buyers they are much more valuable then people who signed up for a free report. I am not saying he can't build his list more but 800 verified buyers is better than 8000 freebie seekers...

He can look at other jewelry affiliate programs but why not market to them about other eBay opportunities. I don't know the eBay affiliate program real well but it is there...

Buy a bunch of PLR on jewellery, beauty, health etc. Populate a blog on it. Apply for affiliate programs (Amazon, eBay?).

Mail the list useful info (blog posts) and affiliate offers.

    Rinse and repeat.
