Confirmed Optin for buyer list?

If someone has already paid for an item, should I still require them to confirm their email?

Or, should I turn off confirmed optin for a buyer list?

It depends on your set-up. I see some optin list that requires confirmation before payment. They can be repeat customers so you better have them confirmed.

You're likely to get 2 answers here. It will basically come down to personal choice.

It's much more streamlined for you as the vendor to automatically create a buyers list from your customers but depending on how well (or badly) you follow up you may find that some will unsubscribe.

If on the other hand you require the customer to opt in then you will most likely have fewer subscribers because many will assume that all you're going to do id bombard them with promo emails, which may or may not be true.

The only way to know for sure which option will work best is to test. Try both. Perhaps require opt in with one product and use the automatic option on another.

Hopefully I haven't confused you further

    Best of luck

I don't send traffic traffic to opt in pages anymore. I Do This instead...

Personally I never do confirmed opt in.

Bigger list, yes more unsubscribes, but overall better results.

I don't see the need for a confirmed opt-in. (Yes, less spam complaints and all that, but not necessarily. And also, without a confirmed opt-in you don't have to be at their mercy to get them onto your list.)

Having said that, if I purchased a product and it required a confirmed opt-in, I would do so in the chance that the vendor may offer updates. Not necessarily so for a free offer (although I may, to see if I get continued value).

Never double optin a buyers list... this is the most valuable list you will ever build and it needs to be single optin. If anything, you should put a secondary optin form on your download page/members area so you can collect two addresses from these individuals.

I know a few people who launched 100% commission products with double optin enabled and they came away from the launch with nothing. No money, no list.

They are already YOUR buyer, why do you want to ask them if they are sure they want future emails from you? IMO confirming there opt in is pointless. When I buy an item online you know what happens? I start to receive emails from them promoting related offers. So my suggestion is to not confirm the opt in.
