Needing Advice on Training

4 replies
Hello,

I am wanting to find a good affiliate marketing training course or membership site. I am decent with Wordpress, but struggle with the following aspects of marketing:

* picking a good affiliate program
* building an email list
* building traffic
* SEO

Basically, the building blocks of marketing. I was a member at Wealthy Affiliate but before I continue to spend money I want to pick a good, solid program to learn all of this. Here is what I am considering:

* Back to WA...
* Affilorama
* Andrew Hansen's Forever Affiliate
* Chris Farrell Membership
* Bring the Fresh
* something else that I haven't heard of

I want to spend wisely with something I will learn much and can build on. I also enjoy a good community, and can say WA was one of the best but I want to make sure there isn't better out there. Any suggestions?

    Although I personally choose to not vote because I myself haven't tried each one.

    My thoughts on this : If you are looking to be mentored, find somebody you connect with and you believe in and look at the product they are offering. If you believe it truly delivers value and will help you succeed give it a try. Most if not all, of these membership sites offer money back guarantee so if you are not satisfied you can get your money back. There are many products out on making money online but hardly any deliver most of the time, so you want to get past all the hype and fluff and see what really works and what doesn't.

    Hope this helps.

    None of them. Why not do it yourself? There is a wealth of information available on the Internet for FREE. You aren't learning how to be a doctor nor are you learning how to replace a car engine. There is a huge community (forums) that will help you free of charge. Wealthy Affiliate seems not to have worked for you or why would you be looking for something different? You aren't going to find any "secrets" with coaching programs. They are simply going to milk you of your money and keep that carrot dangling in front of you. You said you want to learn about marketing, then join a marketing 101 class at a technical college or get a book on it.

    I honestly wouldn't spend hundreds/thousands to simply get started. Once you begin to make a consistent income, you should (if you want and feel comfortable) get some paid training. There's no point in getting training when you can't do it yourself regardless.

    My suggestion would be to buy one WSO which is something you want to do. I mean one, because if you buy more than one you'll get nowhere with information overload - not a good place to be (it discourages you from succeeding). Follow that WSO thoroughly until you start seeing money come through.

    If you rely on someone else to make you money, then IM probably isn't the best choice for you (in my opinion). For the most part you'll be alone to make your own money. You'll need to make your own strategies to make decent money, which is done through experience, and trial and error. You're currently on a forum which provides you with more than enough information to start making money. Looking for training is something I think you should do only once you start to make money - to maximise your income.

    All the best!

    P.S. I know many will disagree with me, but that's just my outlook.

    OK here is the deal. I have never looked at another community other than this one to look at the above information. ( OK I HAVE, but came back here quickly )

    You want to research your list from Bottom to Top IE SEO first. You already know how to build a site, so "BASIC SEO" is probably enough reading to get you started. You really don't want to go to overboard in researching this to start with. It CAN get very technical. We are talking word counts and spacing between words and what line in the code this and that happens, and where on the page to use words etc. Again to begin with that stuff is not so important. Content should be your biggest goal. And understanding the BASIC rules of SEO and implementing that in your content will get you a long way.

    Building traffic, is like building mouse traps, everyone has their own preferred method. Pick a social media, use video, You will have SEO covered, PPC, Solo ads, there are a million and 1 options. Just select 1 or 2 to start and work your way through it.

    Building an e-mail list. Once you have a site, you have traffic, pitch the offer and create a list. this one is the easiest of the bunch.

    Picking a good affiliate program... is there one? I personally am not a big fan. I will use them in certain situations, but not very often. Why not create your own product? I sell e-books, and crafts and birdhouse's and electronic goods, web design, business related marketing, Satellite based Internet, all kinds of stuff. My belief is why should I do all the work making someone else other than PAY PAL money?

    The bottom line is this. All of this information is available through a quick search on a search engine. If you have questions about any of it, bring those questions here, you will get 4-10 answers within an hour.

    Hope That Helps!
