Selling Digital Product by Subscription - Recommendations

Hi

I want to sell weekly newsletters (pdf) via a monthly recurring subscription online.

Can anyone please recommend good payment tools/options for this? I'm looking for a one stop shop ideally.

I'd like something where I upload the newsletter (product) and it is automatically mailed out to subscribers, payment comes direct to me and unsubs and new subs is also handled/recorded by the back end rather than managed by me - does that make sense?

All recommendations and suggestions gratefully received.

Many thanks in advance.

James

I use PayPal and Aweber now to do this but have to manually unsubscribe any cancellations each month in Aweber. Would like to hear also how to automatically handle cancellations if possible.

    Thanks, Shane

Digital Access Pass can do it for you. Automate the entire process.

I'm not sure if Wishlist Member does this automatically but it's worth checking

I don't send traffic traffic to opt in pages anymore. I Do This instead...

I would agree with PayPal and using Aweber to schedule out the newsletter.

I would use just about any membership script and PayPal so you put each newsletter in the membership and us any autoresponder to send out notices that the newsletter is now available in the membership.

The membership script must automatically suspend the member's account if they cancel their PayPal subscription.

I would not worry about them still getting reminders about the news letter from the autoresponder. They can unsubscribe if they no longer want to receive these reminders.

This is how I would handle this scenario.

    I hope this is helpful,

We also use Paypal and GetResponse to deliver the content.

Would be awesome if Paypal had an option to automatically
unsubscribe from a mailing list when Paypal subscription was canceled..

I'm designing a program that will do unsubscribes to any autoresponder or move the subscriber to a different list.

But I need help with people listing the autoresponder that they use so I can see how all these autoresponders do this process so I can cover as many autoresponders as possible.

I will post a new discussion thread to get this information.

    Best regards,

For automatically subscription product I always use Paypal..

In Paypal you can get the Code and add the code in your web page as subscription..

if the subscriber wants to cancel Paypal subscription, he/she have two option, they will login to Paypal and cancel or you have to provide unsubcribe button in your web page so your subscriber can unsubscribe it automatically..

but the recommendation is not to provide the unsubscribe button on your page cause it will increase your rate unsubscribe and majority of people don't know how to cancel their Paypal subscription..

    I hope this helps you

I hate continuity programs that try to make it hard to unsubscribe. I always provide instruction on the proper way to unsubscribe.

If they don't want to be a member any more then why make it harder to unsubscribe and get bad publicity.

Every one of my websites is some kind of membership site and are designed to provide some kind of service. Making it hsrd to unsubscribe is not a service to your members.

      Best regards,

I am using wordpress with s2member plugin, for something similiar. It appears to have the auto unsubscribe..... this is from their site....

        • Pre-integrated with MailChimp, AWeber and supports Mailchimp and AWeber with automatic unsubscribe upon cancellation/termination.
        • Will also transition people from one email list to another when there is a change in their membership level but this feature only works with Mailchimp
        Hope this helps!

ps. I am not associated with or an affiliate with s2member

I couldn't agree more. If you are providing useful content for a decent value, keeping subscribers shouldn't be a big problem. If someone is trying to make it difficult for their subscribers to cancel, they are likely offering sub-par quality content or service.

If you make it difficult to cancel, you may get less unsubs...but in the long wrong you may very well get less subscriptions too. A customer who has to jump through hoops just to unsubscribe is MUCH more likely to post negative reviews of your program than one who was able to easily cancel. The bad taste that will be left in their mouth after a difficult cancellation will put them in exactly the right mindset for leaving negative feedback wherever they can. Why would you want this? It will only serve to get you fewer new subscribers.

If you provide quality content, then you can focus on growing your membership base, instead of focusing on sneaky ways of keeping them.

You may checkout awebdesk email marketer esp editions. and I guess their autoresponder features.
However I am not sure your biz idea will suit.
I know they have a system where mass mailing features with billing integration is available
