Milke Filsaime says 'sell buttons and at a premium' to make the money roll in

In one of my threads Richard Odell (WarriorForum - Internet Marketing Forums - View Profile: Richard Odell) posted a link to a blog post by Mike Filsaime.

I liked the content so much that I created a new thread so that more people would see it than if it was just buried inside my thread.

You can read it here:

Internet Marketing | Butterfly Marketing | Mike Filsaimeas Blog Blog Archive Fish, Poles, Boxes, and Buttons... WTC?

In summary, people are lazy and want a solution to their problems with no effort on their part - provide a way that people can just 'click a button' and the problem is solved.

People like to pay for premium services - so provide one.

I can remember Dan Kennedy talking about how people want the fish cooked as a gormet meal.

Mike took the concept much farther.

Good find. Thanks for posting it.

Sometimes you cook them fish and they still won't eat it. You need to spoon feed them

You got that right. Which sucks if you're not into spoonfeeding and changing diapers.

I disagree with this. I sell products and market in a way that I tell people they are going to have to work, but the results are amazing.

Most people want REAL-ness. It's just that marketers dream-feed bullshit, and then try to say - "Oh thats the only way they'll buy".

When I have already proved that is not true. Being honest is where it's at.

I doubt Mike has any magic buttons that works, but yet he is advertising his stuff as a magic button, then he is full of shit. (no offense).

Self Actualization is one's true purpose. Everything
    else is an illusion.

You've carved off the piece of the pie that wants to learn how to fish.

That's a pretty broad blanket stement, Daniel. There are ways to market premium products and services without "dream-feeding bullshit"; create something that does its job well and offer it at a premium price.

      No arguments here...

When it comes to positioning your premium products and services, Filsaime had another truly golden nugget, and I don't think he knew it when he wrote it.

"I will admit, I love to walk on a plane before everyone else and go faster through security while people give me that look like "I have been here for 45 minutes!"
Stepping out of the make-money-online niche, people with the means to pay for it have always craved recognition for their success. Even if it's an envious stare from an airport line. And they're willing to pay - a lot - for that recognition.

Couple this with a superior experience through your product or service, and price sensitivity goes way down.

      Hi Daniel

Not sure if you actually read the post or just read my summary.

IF you just read my summary then possibly my summary has given the wrong impression. I summarised a long and detailed post into just 2 lines.

Mike does not offer 'magic' buttons, but buttons and he does not say that you should make claims that are not true. You should be honest about how much work is needed.

He says that a solution where the seller has done the maximum amount of work and the buyer needs to do the minimum work will sell the best and get the minimum of refunds.

For example, in the area of traffic to web sites. You can teach people how to do it or give them a tool that will do it. However, the best way is if the buyer just gives the seller the money and the traffic arrives at the site.

I enclose an example from his blog which he uses to explain what he means.

Teach "How To" FISH - You can write an ebook to teach people how to make money with Adsense.

Pole (Make Fishing Easier) - You can create a software that makes it easy for people to make a site and place Adsense on it.

"BOX" (Give the FISH) - You can make site templates, that is like a business in a box, All they have to do is load them up, do a little work, and they can start making money,
Button (Prepare the FISH) - You can build the sites yourself, then get them making money. And then you can sell this PUSH BUTTON "Turn Key" business

Hope this clears up my summary.
