List Building on a Shoestring?

Two options come to mind. Solo ads, however as you are not in the IM/MMO niche I would check out Mailing List Finder -- Search & Compare Mailing Lists, you can find affordable lists in absolutely any niche on this site.

Second option would be a PPV campaign, check out LeadImpact

I think you should upsell/downsell anyways, since this is extra cash that is basically given to you, without expecting it!
It is extra cash you get, and business without it is hard! If you had upsell / downsell, maybe you would pay 70% of your trip, not just 40%
If I were you... I wouldn't rush to solo ads... I would go and learn Fb Ads... For $3 - $5 (each day) you can test few options in a week. That way you'll learn about fb ads, and you won't spend almost anything!

I think that it would be much cheaper long term than solo ads! You have time for Solo ads later

You want the email button to be large and bold + give an incentive for people to enter your list. You can offer a free copy of an eBook or another report to entice them to enter the list - If you won't give them a reason to enter, they won't.

You could approach just about anyone who is in the same niche area as you
and see whether they are actively building a list themselves.

If they are you could ask them if they would be willing to send out an
ad to their list for a set amount of clicks lets say 200 clicks for $60 - $100
and then you can at least get some targeted traffic to your offer.

Also you get to keep those subscribers on your list and market to them
and build relationships with them on an ongoing basis.

You can advertise on FB fairly cheap.

I set my FB PPC ad to maximum $2 a day. I get about 25 hits a day. They are wanting to give you the most bang for your buck.

The hiccup I'm faced with is they are not signing up so I guess my capture page is not too enticing.

I've had about 2 leads in the last week.

You have plenty of free options to grow your list:

- Niche Forums
- Video Marketing
- Social Network Marketing
- Newsletter Exchanges
- Groups and Answer Sites

Those will be more than enough to get you 100 subscribers in 21 days.

I've had some luck getting leads from a few list building sites, outside of opt ins. My last venture, I used infofree for postcard direct mail and got better results than previous campaigns. The more you tailor your list on this site the better-and it looks like they have a weight-loss and fitness database to start with.

YouTube is a great place to build a list... Piggy back of of the traffic:

1. Keyword Research: Find a term related to your niche
2. Record and Upload a Video to YouTube on the topic of the Keyword that you found - Make sure that there is a CALL TO ACTION to click the link in your description
3. Add a link in the description sending them to your optin page
4. Go to fiverr and buy a couple of Social Bookmarking links

Rinse and Repeat the 4 steps above. the advantage of using YouTube as well is that you are branding yourself, so that when people receive your emails they actually know who you are!

Awesome! Two things. First as a website critique, place your opt in box above the fold. Right there in the top right. Of course its all about watching what people are doing on your site and testing different things but I just think you might do a little better by having your opt right there at top with the cover.

2nd, there are a couple of ways to go about this one being with free traffic but with free traffic you need to understand there are few places to advertising that will give you back very targeted traffic and the other part is that when working with the good free places like google and facebook and others it is going to take time before you begin to really see results.

Its like one of those old well pumps where you needed to pump the handle back and forth for a while and prime the system before you got any water. Free traffic is the same thing. Can take weeks and or even months to begin to see results. Thats why most people give up! They go for free and dont see any results right away! It just doesn't work that way.

I'm getting some really good results using facebook ads as well as bing ads. both networks I can get some really good traffic and I'm paying less than 30 cents per click and running around a 60 to 75% conversion rate. Seems to fluxuate from day to day.

If I was in your shoes I would be all over YouTube..

There are many ways to build a list on a shoestring but they will cost you your time!

How much time are you willing to invest into building a list?

You must be willing to work, if so, think of places where people in your niche hang out.

Is there popular blogs online that you can perhaps comment or guest post that you know of?

Do you know of any active communities such as forums that are in your niche?

Did you know Video Marketing is one of the most popular ways to generate traffic?

There are many marketing strategies you can use to make this work, but you must work.

Everyday be consistent in your marketing and always remember to lead with value!

You've already got some excellent advise but allow me to offer a bit more. First off though I offer you a huge congratulations. You've accomplished some great stuff! You've lost weight, you're coaching others how to as well, and you're looking to grow a downline through an mlm company that aligns with your goals. This is all worth congratulating.

Now, as far as your landing page, to be to the point I'd change about everything.
- It should have a strong benefit driven headline
- No external links (causes distraction) The point of a squeeze page is for one thing; to compel a prospect to optin. Period
- Optin should be above the fold as suggested above
- Should have stronger benefit driven bullet points (sell the optin - give them a desperate reason they need your help)
- Definitely no comment section (as mentioned above)

Next, if you don't mind getting on video I have a twist that combines a couple suggestions and one of your concerns.

-Make your squeeze page offer a free video that reveals one or more tips (optin to receive)
-Then offer your report as the special offer (I don't care if you only charge $1, the point is they are now a proven buyer and you're being paid to build your list)
-In the video teach what you promised but also presell your opportunity
-Now you have a list, you have proven buyers on that list, and you have pre-sold them to your opportunity.

You win, they win, and everyone is happy

Just a side note here..I saw your landing page, and your offer. I don't know with others, but I highly recommend that you change the background of your landing page into something that is clean or perhaps relevant to what you are offering. Coffee and Diet does not match for me...unless of course the ebook that you are offering is something about a formulated coffee that will help you slim down in 7 days.

That's a HUGE improvement from just 24 hours ago. Great way to take action my friend. Just keep on tweaking your process as you grow. Remember it doesn't have to be perfect, you're just looking for something that will create curiosity and get your prospect to take the desired action... Optin!

Once you start getting your optin rates better start improving the conversions throughout your funnel. Just test, test, test
