I have just started an email list in the health/fitness niche and have a small list of 30 or so people (just getting started!)....

My question is in my "follow-up" emails when I am actually promoting a clickbank product do you guys anchor the link with words like "Click Here To Get The Program" or do you just keep it a regular hyperlink?

Do the "Click Here" links get put in spam?

Sorry for the novice question

Thanks for the help!

I never direct link from emails. Send your traffic to your site's pre-sell page, link to the affiliate offer from there.

I link with "read more" or "read entire article," etc.

Are the conversion rates higher this way?

A pre-sell page vs no pre-sell page? Far higher.

Sending snippets with "read more" links vs long form emails or direct linking? Far higher.

Seems redundant to me. If you are talking about knowing your Customers like they are friends (as many of you say you should) then why the hell would you send your buddy a link to a page that has a link to another page where you want your buddy to ultimately go to ?

Why not send them directly to the place ? Pre-selling page etc...sounds like you have not build enough trust and fellowship among your Subscribers. As a result ,you are not confident in your relationship with them and you feel like you have to be more persuasive with 'overkill' selling.

If you have been efficient in building a strong relationship with your Tribe and if you have a solid affiliate product and a solid sales letter from the Vendor (that will sell itself) you should not have to be doing this pre selling stuff.

Anchor text is good but I have found that the clicks are a lot higher if you have a direct link. You can mask the link on its own domain or even just set up a fowarding domain.

Recently I have discovered that simple in text links get me the most clicks.

    For example:

I have been using this program since 2010 and it worked like crazy.

    or

Many people who were using this program, discover that blahblahblah..

Probably it's because they don't look pushy, like click here, go here.

I would recommend you to test using clear call to actions like: "Click here", "Read More", "Discover here" with in text links and your own cloaked affiliate URLs like EPoltrack77 suggested.

I'm of the opinion that your email marketing should be more personal. It still baffles me that people treat their subscribers like strangers. If I read your content on another platform I would expect a "click here" link because you don't know me, or know a thing about me. I could have come from anywhere.

However, if I sent a link to my friend, or someone I know, I'm not going to say "Click Here," I'm just gonna give you a link. If the link is ugly as hell, then cloak it with someth more appealing. As soon as I see a "Click Here" link inside MY inbox, I tend to ignore it - and ignore the person who sent it. Not always, but it does make me think twice.

That's just me though. It's nothing more than opinion.

Appreciate the insight and that's exactly how I feel about seeing "Click Here" as well...I am going to test both ways to see which gets more clicks but I couldn't agree more with what you said...thanks!

Your question is when sending out your offer do you use HTML vs Plain text and if you send it HTML will the link get marked up as spam. The answer to that is : No it will not get put in spam, and and yes I embed links in my emails than having them stand alone, if that answers your question.

I don't recall saying anything like that.

They are not my "buddies," they are customers or potential customers. If you don't understand the use and importance of a pre-sell page, I don't have the time to teach you.

.sounds like you have not build enough trust and fellowship among your Subscribers. As a result ,you are not confident in your relationship with them and you feel like you have to be more persuasive with 'overkill' selling.
Sounds like you don't have a clue about affiliate marketing or the fact that there are niches where people don't care who you are or if you're some paper gooroo. They want what you have to sell and that's all they care about. Who you are is of no importance. How you sell and pre-sell is.

If you have been efficient in building a strong relationship with your Tribe
    I'm not a relationship builder, I'm a marketer.

I did what Raimundas did, using anchor texts variables like "go here to read more", "check this video out"...etc. Instead of the usual "click here". I am not sure will "Click Here" puts your emails in spam, but I use other texts so it can go with the flow for my contnet

And I also practice what RogueOne Suggested...

I find that these works better for me, especially if you are promoting something in the "launch phase" as there will be a lot of competition, this makes you stand out from the crowd and also promote yourself as the brand by adding value( Your insight and suggestions) to your prospect.

      Hope this helps.

I think that buttons work well for e-mail marketing. The don't seem so promotional and people click on them more likely.
