How do you give your subscribers your free content?

Hi guys,

I just want to know: How do you give your subscribers your free content? You putting the free information directly in the email OR through an Ebook and a download link?

Regards.

EDIT: i don't mean my first free report. For sure i will not send them an affiliate link everday, i mean, the free information that i will send to them to make a relationship.

Depends on what they signed up for. Where are they signing up to be on your list? What are you giving them for signing up? If it's a report, you can send them directly to a page to download it and, also have the link to the report inside your first email. After that you provide ongoing value which can be delivered in any way you see fit.

    Best of luck.

I'll usually have a link for the download page in the first followup email so they get into the habit of opening my emails.

If you are talking about a free gift, what I think the smart way of giving somebody there gift in exchange for their email is let them know in advance that they will be receiving it in their inbox. That way this ensures them getting the right contact information that way they're not trying to pull a fast one by putting some some fake email address in the box in exchange for a freebie.

You can pay for a simple membership script or Wordpress plugin, like Jason Fladlien's WP Member Champ ($97). Worth every penny, imo. It has a simple way to protect the download so the page it's on at your site cannot be shared with anyone who is not registered and logged into your membership.

what I do is write a blog content and forward them to my blog and indirectly branding myself and they are getting FREE information from it.

Make sure provide good information to them because once they like it, they will stick with you all the time, so take some time to write down good information and forward them..

    I hope this helped you

    Thanks
    Alam

I agree with Alamest, your good quality content should be on your Blog - you then email your list to let them know a little about your new content and leave a link back to your post so that they can visit and check it out!

This way you are building traffic to your site and if your content is good they will be back!

Your 'Free Giveaway' should be on your Autoresponder building your list.

    Hope that's of some help?

Most of the times users have subscribed for some Free ebook
So i don't give free info on even more ebooks it can make your subscribers fly off
Best shot is to have a blog or a website, and make your newsletter filled with free info with read more link after a short summary

Don't give them too much free info or they will get addicted to it and won't spend a thing on your products or recomendations

99% of my emails link back to my blogs. My aim is to continually drive traffic back to the site.

Some emails are email exclusives and contain all the information right there in the emails.

    Three ways.

Opt-in form setup with an autoresponder on your website. Once they opt-in, the autoresponder will mail them the link or redirect them to a download page right away.

Send them a link or ebook directly using email.

Have you info inside a membership site where they can access by joining as a member or your site.

One more is to use a content locking plugin in your website where only those who are members or paid will be able to see the contents.

    Options work best.

The information is sent in my welcome email and, depending on the information itself, it comes in the form of a download link or a direct link to the page.

But, in either case, I feel it best to provide the option of reading the information online or downloading it for safekeeping.

I created software that allows me to put up a squeeze page and allows my affiliate to connect to the squeeze page with their autoresponder.

My software has a PDF module that will automatically brand a pdf with the affiliate's links in the pdf at the time of download by their new subscriber.

So the content is placed in the pdf.

Here is how the process works...

My affiliates take less than 5 minutes to connect their autoresponder to the squeeze page with a click of their mouse. The time consumming part is the affiliate has to create an autoresponder and copy the message I supply as the first follow up message, which contains the download link to the pdf.

Then the affiliate just promotes the squeeze page with their affiliate link ( I supply swipe emails). When the new subscriber clicks the submit button on the squeeze page, a message appears letting the new subscriber know that the pdf download will be in their email in box.

Then it redirects to a sales letter.

When the new subscriber checks his email inbox the affiliates message is there with the download link to the pdf containing the content I want to give away.

I do promote my products in the pdf and the pdf is automatically branded with that affiliate's links for the products.

On the second page of all my free pdfs is an ad for a free 7 day ecourse. Naturally that is also branded with the affiliate's link.

The copyright on the pdfs are so the subscriber can give the pdf to other people if they want.

the last chapter in the pdf is "Suggested Uses" for the pdf. So it encourages the subscriber to sell it, or give it away and when they do it contains the affiliates links and the 7 day eCourse can add more subscribers to the affiliate's list, which makes the affiliate more efficient in promoting my products.

This is because I'm helping the affiliate grow his list.

I hope this has been helpful,

I mix it up. Some emails have links back to the site, some to other peoples' sites. Some are affiliate links, some not. Some have exclusive information just for subscribers. Except for some of the exclusives, every email has a link to click in it, even if it's just to page with a list of recent posts.

I tried the 'snip and blog link' deal, and found that if every email was just a link back to the blog, people stopped opening the emails.

I do want the "click my links" habit formed, but I don't want the complacency that sometimes comes from knowing everything is on the blog whenever the reader gets around to it. Most will never get around to it...

Typically never directly in the email, like to have my subscribers click to somewhere - usually this is my blog which then either contains the information in a blog post, contains a link to a video or contains a link to a download. I also use squeeze pages (again from my blog, but designed as a stand-alone squeeze page) for special pieces of content.
