embarrassing newbie question

So I have a website, a few blog posts, and a VERY small list. What I want to know is, how do I make it so that the people on my existing list can get an email everytime I make a new blog post? I don't want to send a broadcast message out everytime (although I could). There has to be a simple/automatic way that I'm just totally not thinking of. Help? Thanks!

That's easy, if they subscribed on your blog, they will received the newsletter once your blog updated. So you should work out a way to ask them input their email address to subscrib your blog. Of course, high quality blog article is the best tool.

But they aren't subscribed to my blog, they are subscribed to my list, and they receive a free report when they opt in, but how do I make it so that future blog posts will ALSO be sent to them?

There should be a feature with your auto-responder service (assuming you have this) to send a blog broadcast to your list. When you make a post on your blog it is automatically sent as a broadcast to the list that you want.

You may want to check into that.

    Hope that helps.

You can also try to write a weekly list with the latest blog posts in them. That way your using the list more and telling them about the updated blog posts.

I've found this to be extremely helpful for my email marketing. It builds a better relationship with your list all together.

On your blog add an RSS feed, when the user visits your website and they want to keep up with all the news, they have the option of entering there email. Any new content you post they will receive it in their inbox.

    Hey there K,

There's absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about my friend. You're taking action and growing as you go that is to be congratulated.

Now I don't know what auto responder you're using, but aweber makes it easy. (If you need an aweber account and want to help support me you can always pm me for my aff. link)

    Here are the steps
    First, login (obviously, right?)

Second, hover over the second tab which is messages. The third option is blog broadcast...
    Edit Your Blog Emails' Design
Enter your blog's RSS or XML feed URL. (Here's how to find it in WordPress.)

Note: Once you’ve entered the correct URL, choose a template to begin setting up the design of your blog emails.

    Enter Subject, etc.

At the bottom aweber ask questions such as "How often should we send your blog broadcast?

    - On a specific day or days of the month
    - send automatically

    Track clicks

Just input all the appropriate info and save blog broadcast and move on to more important things like creating killer content for your blog.

    Hope that helps K

    Make it a great day,
    Joe

      Thanks Joe!

I do already have aweber Quick couple of questions...

How do I find the URL for my blog's RSS feed? (I am using wordpress)

By completing the steps you mentioned, what does this essentially do? Does it actually email them each individual blog post in the content of the email, or does it send them a link back to my blog or what? When selecting a choice for "How often should we send your blog broadcast?" say I choose "monthly" but I don't put out more than 1 blog post per month. What happens then? Does it send the latest blog post, regardless if it's already sent that one before?

And unfortunately I don't update my blog as frequently as I'd like. Right now I've been blogging about once a month, (sometimes longer) but I'm going to try and blog more.

I just wanted a way to keep my list informed about when I did update my blog

I like the broadcast feature of Aweber. Yes it less automatic but I get more control of how my list reads my new stuff. I usually just copy the first two paragraphs of my post and paste it into my email message, then put a link to read the full article here at the bottom.

    Ok K,

    Sorry I didn't mention that, here's how you should be able to find the rss feed;
type your domain name followed by "?=rss" so it would like something like this...
Example Domain or for a live example you could type WordPress.com News and it will lead you to where the rss feed is.

Second; here's a video straight from aweber on exactly what to do and what to expect concerning your question.
Convert Your Blog RSS to Email Newsletter with AWeber

    Hope this clarifies,
    Joe

It's easier to get a facebook page and make them follow it. After setup a facebook app or blog plugin that will automatically post content. This is also great becouse this info will go viral
