Building An Authority Website - Question

Hello WF

I have been working on a authority website lately but there is one problem I'm not quite sure about and that's when to add the content.

Is it a good idea to add the content all at once? Or should I submit an article a day so google and other search engines think it's growing?

My issue is that I want the website to be full of content as soon as possible to promote it on social media websites, but only adding an article a day will severely slow down that process.

Please share your knowledge, it will be highly appreciated!

Do you want to promote on on social media for the sake of making money or just to get visitors to build up authority?

I think you're best best is to dripfeed the content (once per) day.

I've done quite a bit of seo and time and time again Google seems to like sites that have content that is continually added.

Assuming you are trying to reach authority in the eyes of google

Don't worry about Google. Worry about people.

You say you're "working on an authority site", right? Building authority takes time, and it comes from other people. You can build a big site, but until other sites acknowledge it as an authority, that all it is, a big site.

Do you plan to continue adding more content, or are you looking for "autopilot" results?

If it's the first, go ahead and put your initial load of content on the site, then work at putting it in front of an audience.

If it's the latter, dump half in now and add the other half over time. And you don't have to add content every day. Just be relatively consistent, and both people and spiders will learn your schedule.

When I am going to jump into a venture, I generally will do a month or 2 or longer of research. In that time I am taking notes of what to write and writing. I then start building the site. I personally do all my SEO stuff at this stage. I know what the keywords are. ( I design build and write around a list of the top 200 keywords for my targeted market )

I dump 80% of my content in at launch ( for the blog ). I then go with the 1 post per day after that. I keep the other 20% for days that I am to lazy to write haha!

When I develop a "Authority" site, my 90 day goal is to have 200 blog posts. that's targeting 1 post for each word on my 200 top keyword list.

Keep in mind from the day your site goes "Live" to the day your site finally ranks takes time... It can feel like forever.. usually 60 to 90 days. doing 1 post a day in that time means you are adding 60, 90, 120 posts. The search engine bots will see you are active in updating your site.

So if I have 100 posts completed at launch, I am using 80 of them. Across the next 60 days I am adding 60 more posts. So when I am finally ranked there are 140 or so blog posts there.

Now that that's been said... I would assume you are not putting all your eggs in the search engine basket. So you are using FB etc.. for a more instant flow of traffic. those original 60 blogs are the content that will keep everyone happy. Build your list from day one, and make money!

      Hope that Helps!
