Hey guys,
If you could please take a look at my press release and let me know what you think I should change or reword, I would really appreciate it! It is for submission through prweb.com. ------------------------------- (title) How to Speak Spanish Blog Launches Contest with $99.95 Spanish Course Prizes (summary) In these tough economic times, How-to-Speak-Spanish.net, a free online blog dedicated to helping people learn Spanish, understands the advantages of gaining bilingual skills and is holding a contest where complete A-to-Z courses on learning Spanish (retail value $99.95) will be given away. There will also be more than one winner for this contest. (begin press release) Tampa, FL (PRWEB) June 1, 2009 -- In these tough economic times, the How to Speak Spanish blog understands the importance of becoming bilingual and is currently holding a contest where three individuals will win Rocket Language’s premium Spanish course (retail value $99.95). “This contest is for those who would like to learn how to speak Spanish, but simply do not have enough money to spend on good training programs.” explains blog owner Adam Murray. He went on to say, “The concept is simple, whoever would like to enter the contest simply needs to write 250-500 words on why they want to learn Spanish and what they think or feel is their biggest obstacle with learning this language.” The reason How-to-Speak-Spanish.net is running this contest is simple, they want to celebrate the launch of their blog and give visitors the chance to win educational prizes. This Spanish blog is a free resource for learning Spanish online and provides articles and training on grammar, conjugations and speech, but the owners understand the benefits of a full training course and they simply do not provide that as of yet. “This is an opportunity to receive a fully packaged multi-media course on learning how to speak Spanish,” stated Murray, “Anyone interested in learning this language has a chance and should read carefully through the guidelines for writing and submitting their entry.” “My staff and I will review each and every submission and choose, at our discretion, who we feel should win the prizes,” says Murray, “This contest is not solely about proper grammar or punctuation, but more about story and reasons.” All entries for this contest must be submitted by Sunday, June 28th, 2009 as stated on the official contest rules at http://www.how-to-speak-spanish.net/contest.html. The winners of the contest will be announced, via the blog, one week after the contest entry deadline. For additional information on the news that is the subject of this release, visit http://www.how-to-speak-spanish.net/contest.html. The deadline for submitting entries for this contest is June 28th, 2009 at 11:59pm ET. About the Company: The How to Speak Spanish blog is a free resource blog which includes training material covering all aspects of Spanish grammar, conjugations and speech. The blog is continually growing in material and also features reviews of other top Spanish websites in the industry. Contact: Adam Murray, owner How to Speak Spanish Blog (do I have to include my phone #?) http://www.how-to-speak-spanish.net/ ### |

after the comment about simple....its either a semicolon or a period. Why not an independent person reviewing for the contest winner or a celebrity....just wondering

I took a brief look, looks like it will do the job to me.
There's some weird wording here though... "For additional information on the news that is the subject of the release" Best of luck! |

I really like the way this press release sounds. I also think that sentence mentioned above needs to be changed.
How will you be distributing this press release? |

"For additional information on the news that is the subject of this release, visit http://www.how-to-speak-spanish.net/contest.html."
I would just say, to find out more about the contest, visit...etc. Because you are right, that sentence is a little awkwardly worded. Otherwise, generally the press release looks good! |
