Are You Using Kindle for List Building?

I'd be interested to know if you're using your Kindle e-books, free or paid, to build your lists. And, if so, your preferred method.

Just put a link to your squeeze page in the first couple pages of your book potential customers can read the first couple pages or more before they decide to buy.

If the link to your freebie offer is in there you can get a good amount of subscribers especially if the eBook is well done.

    Hey Victoria!

Recently I've seen few WSO Releases about this method....sound interesting and could be a good source to get traffic if you know how

The key to success with this method is the quality over the quantity and provide useful information not crappy ebooks to get subscribers but do that require much more effort hehehehe

    Regards!

    Hello,
Make a squeeze page and offer a free gift that actually useful for subscribers. If you provide a quality gift then there is more chance for getting responding subscribers.

I use this method with success.

    -publish a quality book
-give away a quality book/report (not PLR) within your book
-ask for email optin "so you can deliver free book"

Just make sure you produce quality material.
    Most people don't do this...
    I think most are lazy.

Slapping together plr or stolen material is not a good business plan.

Be honest and provide quality and people will sign up to your list
    and read your emails.

Before you go charging in, scan through some of the books with one and two star ratings. See how many are rated down because the author is very obvious about using the book only to generate opt-ins.

One characteristic many marketers fail to account for is the Kindle readers actually read. Sometimes a lot. And they don't like feeling manipulated or taken for idiots.

That said, I'm 100% behind the idea of getting them on a list. Just don't try to pee on their shoes and tell them it's raining...

Make sure you are giving away something of real value in exchange for their email address. If they are receiving value there will not be an issue, however if you give them junk, you will lose your list and customers very quickly.

Thank you for the replies! Apologies for my delayed response: off-line intervened in a rather unexpected manner.

Without blowing my own trumpet (too much), I have something of an empire in the non-fiction sector; amounting to hundreds of e-books and those old-fashioned paper thingamajigs. I use both of these general mediums to build lists (have done for years), but I'm interested in how others do it (I'm nothing if not a perpetual student).

If you'd like to give us the skinny on your process, feel free to scribble below with gay abandon. Every word will be appreciated!
