Spammers using my gmail address

Hello,

I'm not sure if this topic should be here or in the Off topic forum. So Mods please place it as you see fit.

At one of my gmail addresses (Non business) I've been receiving emails asking to be taken off a list. It seems that spammers are forging my gmail address as a reply-to address so that all responses (such as take me off your list) from the recipients to the spammers are being sent to me.

Any ideas what to do.

Adam

PS. I don't have a virus or malware. I have scanned my machine with 3 different AV's including an online one.

Nothing you can do, other than depending on Gmail's excellent spam filters and possibly creating rules to mark them as spam.

If you mark the ones that slip through as spam, Gmail may learn to at least keep them out of your inbox.

Definitely change your password. This has happened to me before as well. Definitely run a Spyware scan as well.

I hope you quickly resolve this problem.

I've changed my password and ran AV, Spyware scan etc. I'm 99.9% sure I haven't been hacked .
As far as I can see this is a case of email spoofing where the spammers are using my email as the reply-to address.

The emails are not actually being sent from his account, his address is being spoofed.
