What are the prospects in the Dating Niche?

I am recently contemplating to enter into the dating niche, not just because of the money to be made, but I have realized that I'm bad at handling women and not romantic enough to keep relations going.

Apart from the above, underlining rumor has it that, the niche is quite profitable, if anyone has experience in that niche please advice me before a waste tons of time working an unworkable niche.

    Dating is very profitable industry.
If you get to know the tactics, then you can turn your dating site into goldmine.
Remember dating industry is worth of $4billion annually, All these big brands (which people talk of ) their share is about $1 billion out
    of $4 billion,
the remaining $3 billion is generated by thousands of dating webmasters (like you, me and others)

People who talk of dating industry saturation are
-they have never tried it themselves and afraid to enter it
-they have already failed in it
-they don't know the diversity of IM

They always confuse competition with saturation (which are two different things)

(I gave you lenghty advise because some people from the above 3 categories will advise you to stay away from it )

Stick to it whether its a new or old site and if you dedicate your time and resources to it, I am very sure you will make it

    Good luck with your site

I've never made money with that. Match.com is pretty easy to get accepted for on Commission Junction. Be careful of spamming or they'll disable your account.

The dating market is compromised of many, many niches and specialized micro-niches. I've been in several niches in the dating market for over a decade, so I know a thing or two about it.

While it's one of the most competitive markets that I've ever been in, there is a niche is that market that I'm passionate about, and that is giving dating advice to men. I've had dating guides that catered to college students, men who were divorced and wanting to get back into the dating game, men who wanted to up their "text" game, how to pick up women in bars, etc.

There are hundreds (probably thousands) of vendors that you can work with. You can market:
    • Onlined dating membership websites (hint: help men and/or women navigate these and you can make some really good money)
    • Match making services (some of these have VERY generous affiliate programs)
    • Information products (there are some really good ones out there).
    • Seminars / Bootcamps (you can make money as an affiliate with these too).
    • Weight loss products (yep, I found out that once people trust you, you can market weight loss products to them because many people want to lose weight so they can look good).
    • Certain health products (ties in with the above)
    • Your own dating services (I doubled my business by adding offline coaching, you don't have to do it, but it can be VERY profitable)
    • Self-help products (this one is wide open).
If you want to go into the dating market, I strongly recommend you make absolutely sure this is something you want to get into. Can you start buying traffic from any of the hundreds of traffic networks and start sending traffic to CPA and/or affiliate offers? Of course you can.

However, that is not a real business, it's a simple money maker and you can lose your shirt if you don't know what you're doing.

There are a ton of different ways to make money in this huge market. The online dating market alone is a 2 billion a year industry. You need to find out exactly WHO your target market is, find out what their most pressing problems and issues are, and then find a good product and service mix to promote.

This market and many of it's niches are not for the faint of heart. You need to have courage, a decent budget, and must be willing to run several losing campaigns at first before you find your first winner.

It's been over a decade since I dove head first into this market and it's very dynamic, with new competitors coming in every single day. To say it's competitive would be an understatement, but the good news is that there are new customers coming into it every single second! It can be very lucrative if you're willing to spend some time, testing, tracking, and tweaking to come up with a winning system.

I see a lot people quite the dating advice for men niche all the time because they're too focused on making a quick buck instead of building a long-term, evergreen business that they can sell later or trust / will it to their family or favorite charity.

    Great post, Rod.

I'd also add, to do well in dating thse days, become a niche provider/information source. Instead of trying to send general traffic, start trying to send and convert in the smaller niches in dating: fetish, gay, over50, etc. Most dating sites/programs have multiple landing pages. Use these to your advantage. Most affiliates will just send to the default URL, so the various landing pages aren't seen/used as much. You can even go deeper niche. Example, you have a site dedicated to a fondness for bonde women. Find a landing page and/or banners with blondes on thm and SEO your site for "blonde women" or "dating blonde women".

Also, know that a lot of dating sponsors only pay for certain profiles. Read their TOS. If they only pay you on unique registrations for men ovr 30+ in specific countries, try to funnel your traffic accordingly (based on any data you have on hand). If you have a list, send them a simple questionaire and maybe offer them a free e-report or ebook on dating or how t pick up women. The freebie doesn't mattr. What you want is for them to fill out the survey and give you important demographic information. Now, you can subniche you list into specifically what the dating site is looking for. This will improve your ratios and better monetize your traffic.

A lot of dating sponsors will cancel you or move you to revshare and/or lower your payouts if you're sending lower quality traffic, so the beter you qualify your traffic before sending, the better you will do (and you might even be able to negotiate a better payout from the sponsor.

I never even thought about sending them to a specific landing page...brilliant!

Yeah, the dating niche is pretty awesome. I'm not in it 100% right now, just have some WL dating sites through Dating Factory. I haven't tried to send any traffic to them or anything, just wanted to set them up for whenever I'm ready to dedicate most of my time to them.

Personally, I can't wait until that day comes.
