Default What Do You Recommend for Software Protection?

I was wondering what's your prefered software protection system? Instead of fiving out keys manually for every customer that purchases or signs-up for a trial, what's your favorite?

I was thinking of https://www.softwarekey.com/protection-plus/ , but I've a feeling that I might even get a better recommendation. Trial flexibility, immediate/instant online activation and key licensing protection. Nothing fancy, it just needs to get the job done and make it difficult to have the product spread illegally.

Thoughts, recommendations?

Thanks.

Agree with you LMC, DLG is a great product (I also own it) but was looking more into the protection/license key of online software integration that is automated for bot hdirect purchase and affiliate ease. Like:
Interactive Studios - Quick License Manager

Mmm...wonder what Brad and Matt Callen are using for their softwares. Thanks for reminding me of DLG by the way.

It depends on:

* Which type of software you are distributing (PC or web based?)
* To what extent you need the software to automate things. ( Like buying the product by cart, product download system, licensekey generation and distribution part)

.

DLGUARD is an ENTIRELY different product!!!!!!!!! Just looking at the first page makes that clear!

DLGUARD controls INITIAL access from the web. (as the name implies)

SOFTWARE KEY is supposed to control running and features over time ANYWHERE(as the name implies)

It's hard to recommend something without knowing more about your application such as programming language and deployment platform.

However you may find something suitable amongst these solutions:

ByteShield™ - Software Activation Management That's User And Developer Friendly

Desaware Inc. - Components and Tools for Microsoft Visual Studio Developers

Oreans Technology : Software Security Defined.

PELock Software Protection

www.EZIRIZ.com ...To Be One Step Ahead

Software protection, licensing and copy protection with PC Guard software copy protection system!

Hi Steve!

Welcome back to the forum....again

You're right, DLGuard is mostly designed for initial protection, however it also offers help for developers on the backend.

DLGuard has a Query feature. So the developer would ask the customer for their email address and receipt when the software is first run. It can then post it to DLGuard's Query feature, and DLGuard will tell you if the details are valid.

If you store that info in the software, and keep reposting each time the software starts, you can have it validated each time, so this can stop the software working when a refund happens.

But it's not a software wrapper - it just offers developer tools for those who are interested in a little more power than you average download management system

cheers
Sam
