Who is the best Email Marketing Guru?

With Anik Singal's Inbox Blueprint just being released, I was wondering which guru on email marketing got you the best results?

I do not believe in gurus.

Just study several books and then test it for yourself.

You do not need a guru to do email marketing.

I went thru a training many moons ago from Matt Furey, that has been the most helpful for me for sure. His stuff is timeless.

Everything else seems to be mostly garbage full of gimmicky tactics that don't really work all that well...

      LOL.

Guru's is just a "personality" you give someone who you believe is more knowledgeable.

Like when someone who is less knowledgable you call them "newbies".

We're all a bunch of name callers!

Sometimes people do need a guide, unfortunately in this business there is more mis-info than good info. I don't have such a bleak view on it though as i've had a lot of great value from guys like Ryan Deiss that actually focus on creating quality content.

It's best to not rely on one person's information. It's always great to diversify and be out there studying successful people's emails. Study the headline, body and calls to action. You'll pick up way more stuff studying more people.

A few lists that I have joined and gotten tips from in the past include Ben Settle, Andre Chaperon, Matt Furey...but they all have their own style.

Just write as many emails as you can. you'll improve, find your own voice but just by reading these so called Guru's emails won't get you far till you apply.

      Be yourself....

        Adam said it best.

The biggest lesson we can all take from
guys like that is not the training courses
        they sell...

...but HOW they're able to do it.

People like Ben, Andre and Matt all have
        one thing in common:

        A VOICE.

        Personality.

And not being afraid of expressing them-
selves completely -- flaws and all.

There is no one on this planet who can
        be a better YOU...

        ...then yourself.

The problem MOST people have is fear
of judgement and not being accepted
by the mass majority for who they are.

Perhaps this is a valid fear.

...because you WON'T be accepted by
        most.

But those who DO listen are the only
folks you want hanging around anyway.

        THEY are your target audience.

        Not the entire freakin' planet.

So it all boils down to the question...

Who IS the best email marketing Guru?

You may not like the answer very much
because it won't be what you WANT to
        hear...but NEED to hear.

        But I don't care.

        I'm gonna' tell you anyway.

        Ready for it?

        .
        .
        .
        .
        .
        .
        .
        .

        The BEST email Marketing Guru...

        ...is you.

        Cheers.

There's a guy on the WF called Declan O' Flaherty (I think that's his name) who's given me a few invaluable pointers on e-mail marketing and listbuilding.

He doesn't market himself as a "guru", but I get the feeling that he's REALLY good at what he does.

I think frank kern he does not send email too often, but when he does I take notice.

Some of his stuff is way better than other gurus high paid stuff. And that says alot.

That may be true celente…but do you take notice because of what he said? Or because of who say it?

And I agree in that I open emails a lot purely based on who sent it.

Name recognition will get your "foot in the door", but the emails still need to be good (or at least speak to your audience).

One person who after many years still gets in my inbox and I actually open and read - Paul Myers (right here on this forum).

As for gurus - it is hard to say.

I have watched Anik's training video - and it is awesome. I actually linked his training video from the other day on my website... it was awesome

As for the guru - best thing is to look around.

When you study those who are making the sales you want, those are the people who are going to help you out.

Learning is critical, no matter what business you are in, as well.
