From 1-10, how important is selling a video to a client for their site in 2014?

I wanted to start a thread that talks about the importance in selling videos to clients.

How important is it?

Well, let's start by saying that as soon as a website visitor watches a 30 second video, it begins to help the site's avg. visit duration which in return will tell Google that people are staying on your website longer, thus, triggering certain factors that help increase rankings. This is what you want for yourself, and for your clients.

Anybody else have another reason of why video is super important in 2014 that they'd like to share?

#clients #offline clients #selling video #video production #videos

Well...that depends on the niche you're in, what you're selling, who you're selling to, the price of what you're selling, etc.

No it doesn't. It increases your avg. visit duration, it doesn't decrease your bounce rate. If they browse another page, THEN the bounce rate decreases.

    Great image, btw.

I never use video on my sale pages...
Especially now that a lot of traffic is coming from mobile.

Why would you not use video on a sales page? That is THE spot to put a video. Many people simply don't have the time nor patience to sift through a LONG and boring article. If you can put together a visually entertaining, educational, and persuasive video, then you're gold!

Which is still NOT a measure that Google uses to increase or decrease your ranking. If your content serves the user's query and answers their questions 100% then it is very high quality and relevant content whether they go to another page or leave. I consider a real bounce rate, as someone who goes to your page and does not finish reading the content.

As for the OP.. How important is selling a video to a client? From 1 to 10 with 10 being the most important? I would say 1. We're in 2014, the focus shouldn't be selling clients anything, the focus should be helping them solve a problem.

Selling a video is not important. Selling a website, is not important. It doesn't matter. #1 rankings in google? Doesn't matter... When it comes to selling and getting people to become clients, the only thing that matters is what drives them, what struggles do they have, and how can you help?
