Wordpress Autoresponder Plugin to Integrate with Mandrill

I am looking for an autoresponder plugin that send out emails in intervals after a user signs up, not just something that can broadcast emails.

The free Javlin autoresponder plugin for wordpress doesnt seem to work with Mandrill. Any other suggestions? I am looking at MyMail as an alternative but will be open to any other suggestions.

Please dont tell me self hosting my auto responder is a bad idea. I already have an account with Get Response.

I know more experienced email marketers and list builders will laugh at me for this.. but I use 3 plugins for my autoresponder - which
    1.is free
2.shows percentage of opens and clickthroughs
    3. sends emails at given intervals after a sign up
    4. has a very easy to use and attractive newsletter feature
    5. with the testing I have done so far (and I may be wrong in some cases - this bit is by no means 100% definite) the mails go to primary inbox in GMail rather than promotion

    The three plugins are:
    Magic Action Box
    Mailpoet (formerly Wysija)
    Configure SMTP

The last one, when properly set up with your hosting account email, is what I believe helps the emails avoid the dreaded spam filter.

I know it's not as high tech as paid-for services and there may be a chance a small percentage of emails may not get noticed, but I believe that by sending quality emails rather than spammy constant affiliate offers, I won't run into any major trouble.

    Hope that helps
    Dave

Be careful using Mandrill for affiliate marketing. Since Mandrill is essentially the back end for Mailchimp and mail chimp does not like affiliate marketing.

This I think is one of the IM Myths. You can check out Mail Chimps reply to this myth here http://kb.mailchimp.com/article/does...ffiliate-links. But no, I dont plan to do affiliate marketing with my emails, so either way it shouldnt be a problem.

I agree. I was with mailchimp (still have accounts for a couple of sites I am letting lie). They have a very helpful guide to email marketing and blog - they say themselves that they are fine with affiliate marketing. Their concern is that too many people using their service for the IM and MMO niches will end up getting their emails marked as spam. This reflects badly on Mailchimp and also results in a poor user experience. If you plan to send nothing but affiliate offers then Mailchimp is not for you. But if you plan on forming a proper relationship with your list then you have nothing to worry about.

I find their interface a little clunky and would rather stick with Wysija, but I wouldn't discount Mailchimp as a perfectly good mailing service.

If you are a newbie reading this - they don't provide an autoresponder free - just a newsletter service. That's probably the deal breaker for a lot of people, and why I moved to Wysija/Mailpoet.

Are you using the free or paid version of Wysija/mailpoet?

I'm using the free one. When I tried using the paid version of one of the mailing companies they recommended I found it nothing but hassle (technically) and after a lot of wasted time I looked up details about SMTP and what roles it plays in our emails being recognized as genuine or spam. I tested out a few plugins and found the one I mentioned above to be the only one that worked with me (on GoDaddy) by getting friends to subscribe and then watching where my email went. Without the SMTP plugin they went into Spam, with other plugins they went into promotions and with this one they went into the primary inbox. I haven't looked at the difference between the paid and free but as far as I remember it, the difference is in how many people you can email at once. In the free you are recommended to set the system to email 90 people at a time with a minimum of 15 minutes between each group of people. My list is under a hundred so they all get an email straight off. But if you have an urgent offer to get out to a list in it's thousands this would be an issue. (Then again if you had a list in its thousands I doubt you would be looking for a free autoresponder lol)

Anyway - I like it, I did some digging and found that a lot of people who aren't in the IM world all rave about it, so I am happy with it for the foreseeable future.

isn't it when you use wordpress this means you use your hosting for this ?
This means if your IP is blacklisted this will not work.
I think many issues will occur when using wordpress plugin as autoresponder.

So far THE best system I have seen to incorporate WP and Mandrill is RapidMailer. Not free but well worth the $67 (single site license) price tag.

    EDIT
OH YEAH... forgot to add; that I've found it to best employ WP's multi-site network config and giving RapidMailer its own site to avoid any plug-in conflicts. Its a complex plug-in and you don't want that part of your biz bumping heads with something minor.

tecHead thanks for that multi-site tip, much appreciated. Very good way to avoid plugin conflicts.

You can also try emailjeet software by cyril and it works perfectly with mandrill and many others, as I have used it. But keep in mind that it is desktop program.

I use this too and it's excelleny though a little basic - could do with some added features - but I hate going into different sites to send different emails to different lists, so I use this to blast stuff out from my desktop. I don't know how much it is now, but it was super cheap when I picked it up.
