    Hi vpatodi,

To get organic traffic at this stage, you need to target long tail search terms - searches that aren't typed into google very often, but don't have much in the way of competition. If you need a tool to find some long tails, I'd recommend Market Samurai - it has a free trial too, so no risk.
    Noble Samurai

To get organic traffic from better, more competitive search terms you will need to increase the authority of your site. SEOQuake lists that site as having just 5 backlinks - you really need to increase this before google will take you seriously.

Ahh, my soapbox issue once again! The VERY FIRST THING you must do is build a list of niche keywords that you can actually get high rankings for at Google (and Yahoo, MSN).

Seriously, you can stick up blog posts all day long til your fingers fall off and the best you'll get is a trickle of random traffic from the search engines. What you have to do is learn what your niche's audience is actually searching for. Then write blog posts that include those keywords and related words. Like, if your keyword is "dog training," then use words in your post like: dogs, puppy, train, housebreaking, obedience, puppies. Also use the actual keyword (dog training) a few times here and there. Don't overdo it! Make it natural so it reads well.

OK, that's step 1. It's an absolute MUST!

Step 2 is to get backlinks to your blog posts using the same keyword that post targets as your anchor text. Anchor text is just the words you make clickable in a link. PM me if you don't get it. It's very simple.

Do both of those things and I GUARANTEE you will start seeing a steady and growing flow of organic search traffic.

    You're welcome.

Have you submitted your game reviews rss feed to all the rss directories?

    and...

If you invalve ppc, your best ecomonical means would be to use Amazon.com for your products. Adwords is priced out of the ball park and not as buyer targeted as Amazon.

Other than that link swapping is very good. Just stay within your theme.

An example would be to swap links (anchored) with console suppliers and other gaming accessories...since you are focusing on the software games end. Just make sure your swapping your banners with prime space.

It might be easier if you told us you have done as far as building your traffic nodes/modules. Then maybe we could fill in the gaps for you.

    Just looked at your site.

Your main keyword is in the domain name, that's a good start.

Per Google...there are approximately 1600 searches per month for that keyword. This is a good start toward getting some organic traffic. I could be wrong, but I would make sure your home page is optimized for "console video game sales." I assume you're running a WP blog there. Create seperate pages for the different games your reviewing, and optimize the page for SEO (all-in-one seo pack is perfect for this).

You just need to tweak your site, don't give up. It will work. Look at the stats...

intitle:"console video game sales" inanchor:"console video game sales" 1 result

"Results 1 - 10 of about 432" for "console video game sales"

You should be able to crush this keyword with the keyword in your domain name. You also need to get a WP optin plugin so you can start building a list. Search for a PLR ebook on gaming that can be purchased for cheap (there's a lot out there), and give it away in exchange for your visitor's email.

You also need to start analyzing your backlinks. I checked them, and of course we never know what percentage of the total we're actually seeing but, of the ones I saw, not one of them had your keyword in the anchor text. If you don't know how to create links...learn! There's generally two ways to create a backlink...well darn...I had the two examples of backlinks for you but I haven't made enough posts to put them in this post.

Do some SEO on your front page, build some proper backlinks and you'll start to see some results.

One last thing, track your traffic to your site, if you've got visitor's and no sales...your site isn't converting and you need to make changes.

    My "two cents"

Go make some money...you're on the right path

    Cheers!

You are in a very competitive market my friend.A lucritive market so have you had a look at targeting your market more closely.By this i mean that rather than target all console video games for eg cut down to first pushing 2-3 of the most popular.Thereby you can keyword optimise a less competitive market ,still with high search volumn

Hundreds of ways to build traffic to your site however here are some pointers to get you started.

Sit down ask yourself what is your blogs main focus. In your case video games

Then think to yourself where are some places people go to check out video games or talk about them? Forums, chat rooms, server sites, pretty much where do these types of people congregate.

Now find ways to get your links showing up on those sites for free or with a little cost. Forms of gamers can be simple post like you do here on warrior forms BUT DONT SPAM! Make your post worth something. Even blogs comment on peoples blogs head over to google type in game blogs or pc game blogs , top game blogs post comments on their blogs and do it daily. This is going to build backlinks and more then likely high PR ranking backlinks if you get into the right blogs. Getting your link on more pages and high rank pages are going to land you higher on search engines and best of all get your name and your link in front of thousands by the comments you are leaving. Or simply pay to put your banner or link on the site. Tons of traffic out there just come up with ways to get it to your site good luck!
