CTR vs Appearance

This theme seemed to be big a while back for CTR:

ProSense Grey

For a small niche site (about 10 pages @ 1500 searches monthly for primary keyword) what is your opinion on using this theme for a site? I would put a nice header and such.

Im worried if people are accustomed to more modern themes and would just bounce off it.....the text area is also a tad narrow. I'm confident I can rank on first page easily possibly number 1# for this niche.

    Luckily i found this thread. Here is a 15 page niche site i own.

    myoildrilling.info <--- Uses the discontinued theme "Bluesense"

    i get a 3 percent CTR on it. Highest of any of my sites

      Yea bluesense converts well, i'm familiar with it and even I almost clicked the adsense thinking it was the nav bar.

      However its just the color that I cant stand...I dont see why someone hasnt made a white version of it yet.

    what an ugly theme. the content better be good otherwise people will be bouncing off that site like theres no today
