(Noob) Trying to help family friend

So a family friend opened up a local business (Antique/Furniture etc) and she has literally no web presence except a pretty empty website.

I have minor experience in making websites but know very little about marketing

I am meeting up with her later this week and wanted to get some help about what I can present to her that would help her.

So what exactly can I do for her with a small or very limited budget?

I get that you want to create like a facebook page, twitter etc and send out the updates of new pieces/items etc but outside of that I don't really know what to do.

Can someone give me some basic and general tips of how exactly I can use internet marketing/Social Media to help her business?

*Also, I don't want to be the least bit spammy to not reflect poorly on her.

Does she want to stay purely local, or is she willing to ship/receive items?

If she wants to stay purely local, the website should have sections for local decorators, estate agents, etc. People that buy and sell antiques as part of their jobs. If she's qualified, she might offer appraisals and assistance with selling the items, perhaps with an "agency discount" as a sweetener.

Consignments are pretty much a given, I'd think.

Combine that with real-world marketing efforts.

If she's willing to ship/receive, she could offer items for sale via her website or through eBay.

How about a video appraisal service, where people would upload videos of their antique and your friend would offer an estimated worth (for a fee).

    Last idea...

Antiques are such a visual product that I'd think hard on having a Pinterest account showing pieces sold, for sale and wanted.

Hope this gives you a jump start on your thinking. Just touch bases with your friend and start with a list of all the ways she could help people, both those with antiques to sell and those looking to buy. Then look for ways to make that happen online...

WHy not start with wordpress theme which will give you basic layout of site
And i think they are also some free ecommerce themes, if not you can also buy which are pretty cheap
You can start from facebook and pinterest
Do some low budget ads on facebook test and see if it works
Also if you can post a lot of High Quality images and then start pinning on pinterest it can build a regular stream of visitors in just couple of weeks
