    Hi,

1 - You can make money thru just about any niche.

2 - You will want to think about clarity on this one; you need to be clear on why you are running adult sites, because many will see these as spammy....but if you can find the ideal customer, you can prosper.

Not that I run any of these themed sites....just saying

    All the best!

Isn't all porn free these days. That was the big mistake the industry made by giving too much stuff away free. I think there may be money to be made from the web cam niche though.
I am no expert in this area, so I may well be wrong.

Mhmm, respectfully you are wrong. I have a few buddies that make quite a bit in the adult world. It's that mentality that too much is free and that people don't buy that they smile at and wish to encourage so fewer people enter in as their competition

People still pull out their credit cards to join sites even when free sites exist. Pay per lead offers pulling in those emails are also equally as strong.

Adult offers typically pay out quite a bit so it only takes a few to make good money on a consistent basis.

Plenty of people pay for porn.

The best quality porn is not free and plenty of buyers know that.

And those websites have affiliate programs.

I speak from experience as someone that's had adult affiliates as clients.

See, I ghostwrite fiction for marketers looking to get into the Kindle game now, but eight years ago when I started, I was doing fiction alongside copywriting for paysite tours and blogging for adult affiliates.

There are some fabulous programs out there, and you can make good money doing it. I never actually had time to start my own sites, full disclosure, because I was always so swamped with client work, but I made very decent money from affiliate clients because they used my blogging to keep making their money.

If I was getting regularly paid as well as I was, I know that was only a fraction of what they were earning.

I had to comment because I see this all porn is free there's no point anymore talk all the time. I'm a avid porn peruser (enthusiast? consumer?) and I'm fiercely loyal. I don't bother with free stuff and I stick to my favorite network.

I can tell you that I'm not the only one, either.

Plus, pretty much every niche I can think off, all kinds of things are out there for free. People still pay money for them.

It isn't always about only the good quality stuff being available for paid users. Though I'd say for good porn, at least fetish/BDSM porn, the paid stuff is where its at.

Some of the free tube sites have affilate programs where they pay just for sending traffic to them - customer doesn't need to buy anything.

But from what I've read, the cam niche is really growing because people want a more "personalized" experience. So I think there's good money in that niche too.

I think the biggest problem in the porn niche is how crowded it is, not necessarily all the free stuff available.

Like you, though, I'm not an expert here and I don't do any marketing with adult websites.

Awhile back, I was chatting with the tech who was putting a new drive in my wife's laptop. He was talking about another job, where the client had over a thousand different virus/malware/adware files, all of them from "free" porn sites. There's a reason they're giving it away.

I also met a guy who ran a chain of adult book/movie stores before the Internet went mainstream. He told me that the more "esoteric" (i.e., kinky) the fetish, the more he could charge for it.

If all you want is tittie pics, those are all over. But if you're into something where safety and anonymity are important to you, you're probably going to look for something paid.

If you can cater to those esoteric tastes and convince potential patrons on the safety/anonymity angle, you may have a license to print money.

Well, that's the first thing any guy searches for on the internet, if you were wondering will there be any demand.

But yes, it will be great if you could boil down to a fetish/niche within the industry, for example, cosplay theme etc.

And remember the essential IM tools of trade, grab their emails, form a list, email them content updates, upsell them premium stuffs, send a monthly newsletter with the "PLAYBOY" format etc.

    All the best!

    jessiewriter is correct...

i am not a regular poster / visitor... i come by every so often and "look"... perhaps i should look more often.

what i can add to this conversation is:

the adult marketing world is alive and well for those who know how to play.

though tubes have certainly been a part in "destroying the adult video industry"...

    and so has (affiliate) competition.

i consider myself to be an expert... in the "adult world"... the "experts" know...

it's not about porn anymore... porn is free. or should i say... crap is free.

if you want quality or specific fetishes... the good stuff is still paid for.

for the past 10 years... i have been an adult affiliate... now moving into mainstream affiliate marketing.

my adult niche sites are still producing... though "general porn"... dead.

it's about content... and knowing what the customer wants.

just like mainstream... from what i've learned so far... but with an obvious slant.

I'd say it is just so much more than convenience. I like quality fetish porn and I only trust my time (hey, I don't have all day to find my porn) and thusly my money with a single network of sites. They deliver.

I'm not their only customer to feel this way.

Sex, sexual pleasure...it is intimate. Even online. Customers want to trust they're going to get the fantasy they're looking for.

Not too sure about these days with all the free content that is out there. In 1997 I was making $25,000 a month marketing a webcam site. Those sure were good times! I haven't been able to produce the same results after the internet boom happened. Too much competition. Back then I was top listed in Yahoo and I mostly used Yahoo chat rooms to advertise. Ahhh.. the good ole' days! I still get checks from marketing a few fetish sites so there is still big money to be made. Maybe I need to look into it harder. (uh, no pun intended)

Yes they are. The porn biz is so big that you really need to know exactly
what nice are you gonna promote

So far the best profitable on 2013 and it seems many years from now are the

    Revenge Pics - Videos /Selfies/Ex GF/ Ex Wives...niches.

Real amateur content all the way. People got sick of all the fake porn/plastic dolls - pornstars. They want something, more exciting

I love a thread that has women (or in this case a woman) willing to advocate and speak highly in defense of porn...

While it was the first thing I ever promoted online, I too was dismayed by the misconception that all the "free stuff" was having a massive impact on my results. Looking back, it was likely due to a lack of vision (perhaps slightly blinded by the product, lol) and marketing know-how to properly reach a paying consumer market.

My wife still asks me; "So why is it you never sold one of those platinum and diamond embedded toys for $3,000? - I was looking forward to you earning enough commissions to buy me one!"

Had I successfully marketed said item, each sale was paying $300!

So "YES" - I agree there's a ton of money in the adult niche, as with any popular market.

I'd say porn is one of those "evergreen" niches like "golf" and "weightloss" that will always be popular. And like the other niches fads will come and go and new products will spring up.

So its not about the niche, more about trying to be at the forefront of whats popular. Like others have said before me, currently private webcams seem to be the way to go...

The only porn related money I ever earned online was promoting "live girls on web-cams" types of programs... and now, when I look back and reflect with some confusion on how I even got guys to pay for watching and interacting with girls on cams...

I suppose they were desperate guys and perhaps to shy/timid to have/get a girlfriend or even go pay to have a GF for a couple of hours "in the flesh" - so they would prefer to pay for 30 minutes of cam time with a girl.

I was not making a significant amount of money with those cam programs though, so moved on to Adsense, Amazon, Clickbank, etc.

I share the belief that there are so many free porn video sites that it seems like it would be extremely difficult to make money, unless perhaps you get into a super-specific niche like maybe "Milfs from Tahiti" or "Eskimo Milfs"

      Got any evidence for this??

I don't see porn dying any time remotely soon buddy. You don't even need to target the sub niches. Get the traffic and you will get sales.

There is nothing that says that porn is dead in any form or frame of reference that I can imagine.

Adult is highly competitive. I've never messed with it, but have friends that have done well in it. The advice I keep hearing for adult is to go super-niche. Find a crazy fetish and market toward a small subsect, because you'll probably never compete on a large scale.

Of course there will always be money to be made with any form of sex, plain and simple.

The free tube sites haven't killed the porn industry, but they have definitely changed it.

Free porn hasn't "smacked the industry" any harder than torrents and file sharing sites smacked the music industry.

Others in this thread have been wise to point out that you will need to focus on very fetish-specific niches to succeed with adult stuff.

Sites like extralunchmoney.com and others prove that there IS a market for custom made adult content.

I've made money on that site and guys are always willing to pay me directly for private Skype shows where they can be the director of their own porn videos.

There may well be money to be made in the fetish porn niche, though as already stated much is spammy type content..
Saying that it, I'm a member of 3 porn/fetish related sites and a Moderator of two of them, and as we are looking at ways to support the sites as they are free memberships.
I would say the only way one could capitalize and make any money on this niche would be as an affiliate or add networks..

There is the issue of PayPal not accepting payments from Adult content sites..

I may well be wrong here of course as my memberships are not profit or make money related..just my thoughts here.

As Avenue Q stated: The internet is for porn. It is really a profitable niche, otherwise it wouldn't be too prevalent on the worldwide web. About the niches/fetish you'd like to target, PornHub released a complete statistics of all the searches per state. (I can't post the link to it, might be against WF rules and also I don't want to indulge anyone with this info. Just search for it) You'll learn a lot from here and you'll find out what each State got their freak into.
