Best way to skyrocket my email list?

Hi everyone...I'm new to Warrior Forum and have been dabbling in IM here and there but never went anywhere. Anyways, I finally have my site in place (my site is only 1 month old). What is the best way to get paid traffic to my squeeze page so I can start building my newsletter list FAST? I tried setting up an Adwords campaign but Google threatened to suspend my account. Are there any services that I can use to send people to my squeeze page? I would really appreciate any suggestions and feedback!

Thanks
Chantal

    Hey Chantal,

    what is your niche?

For MMO/Internet marketing niche you could try Solo ads and Facebook PPC.

If your niche is outside Internet Marketing, then Facebook PPC should work just great.

Hi there...my niche is weight loss....I tried Facebook PPC yesterday...I'm very new at all of this. I only ran a campaign for a day with a $5 budget (just wanted to test out the waters)...anyways, I didn't get any sign ups at all! I've been reading about solo ads but I don't really know anything about them. Are there any other types of services that can send traffic to my squeeze page? I'm so new at this and have so much to learn...

Google is tough to deal with, but you can try Facebook, Yahoo, Bing(miscrosoft) and Twitter.

Hey shantal if your in need of leads and traffic.

For opt.in or conversions go with Solo Ads.

And always go for the #1 guy on the market.

Best results with him through many deals just my advice . and don't buy rubbish traffic always avoid low quality services here on forum. ( you can know this if it's cheap and reviews are fake)

Have you considered getting traffic organically? I mean, you really don't want some random dudes to come to your site, just because you've paid for ads, right? Instead, try posting relevant advice in niche forums and blogs, engage with your social buddies, etc.. and watch your traffic grow, the right way.
    Good luck!

Don't give up on FB ads so quickly because the same thing applies to other paid traffic as well. Take some time to learn a little about copy and creating ads. Then it is a case of tweaking until the conversions go up. I am assuming that you are operating in a buyers market of course.
Most people have to work on their ads before they get the required results. Knowing what does not work is just as important as knowing what does.

    Chantal,

From what I know, people don't usually sign up for Newsletters on new blogs. I'd give it a while before you try that, because people don't know you or your blog, so they don't know what they'll be getting. I'd also guess your blog is very thin on content too, so there's no real incentive to sign up for a Newsletter.
Try doing what others do, the time tested proven way, and create a free eBook or give away software in return for signing up to your list.

I'm sure you can find some free software like a weight loss calculator, or meal planning software, or even a shopping planner. Otherwise write a free 20-30 page eBook in return.

My experience of Facebook Ads when I promoted various affiliate promotions, is that it takes a while to get going. One day is actually useless. You need it up for at least a week at absolute minimum to get any meaningful statistics from it, and I'd even go for two at minimum. Cut your daily budget if you can't afford $5 a day for two weeks, and get a free giveaway written.

Really try to narrow down your target audience on Facebook too. I heard a tip a while back, that involves creating your ideal person in your head, and to tap into their mind and figure out what they like and what they do. Give her a name, an age. For instance, you may decide your typical American overweight female likes Oprah Winfrey for instance. So in your Facebook Ad, also choose people who are following Oprah. It's just a silly example, but you get what I mean.
If you target USA on Facebook for instance, go online and Google the most overweight states in the US and target them instead of country wide. You get the idea.

    Hope that was useful.

My squeeze page does offer a free eBook upon sign up...thanks for the advice though...I will try targeting my ads more on Facebook. It's just a little discouraging when you don't really know what you're doing. SO MUCH to learn!

Yeah, well, I'm still learning myself. I know exactly how you feel. Don't forget, starting out in internet marketing is only a minefield if you let it be one.

Concentrate only on what needs doing, don't get scattered, and you'll be fine. Sadly I didn't do that, but boy do I wish I did !

I'd still include the free ebook for an opt-in on your website though. Newsletters give no incentive at all for a new blog. Alternatively find some software like I mentioned, and also offer the ebook as an added bonus.

Kim Roach just came out with her latest program, and she definitely does rely heavily on traffic from Facebook ads (now). You might want to sign up to her list if you haven't already; she often sends free info with the best ways to run FB ads, and the like.

    1. Set up a squeeze page
    2. Run a PPC ad to get traffic

    It's that easy.

Now you've just got to find a product to sell, write copy for your autoresponder, and start testing.

With your new website, I felt a cold in the spine when you mentioned that you advertised on Google adwords, you can easily be suspended after spending lots of cash. I prefer creating quality content to advertise your website either through blogging, article marketing and using keyword research to do the articles and blogs.
This will help you rank on Google organic listing for free without spending much. later on you need to learn the adwords advertising before venturing because it can be the most expensive and intimidating to start with

Chantal, I took a look at the site in your sig.

Nice design. Lousy content if you are looking to build a newsletter list.

Everything on the site is promoting your product. There's nothing to indicate that signing up for anything on this site would be anything but more of the same.

People may watch infomercials, but they don't subscribe to a channel to get them. Especially when it's the same product over and over again.

I'm not trying to be harsh here, but I think you have bigger problems if you really want to build a newsletter.

On the other hand, this site might work well for direct selling if you can target the visitors well.

You could develop a landing page geared purely on selling the free ebook as an intro to a further "secret", which will be revealed by email and on the blog. Send your PPC traffic to that page, rather than the home page.

Even better, write the copy on those landing pages for specific groups. The copy that might appeal to this "big guy" in his fifties is not the same copy that will appeal to a twenty-something new mom. Your plan might work equally well for both, but we need to be approached differently.

You've chosen one of the biggest, most competitive markets in the world to cut your marketing teeth on. Unless you have Jenny Craig's budget and infrastructure, a frontal assault on the whole "weight loss niche" has zero chance of working. Taking on slivers of that huge market, on the other hand, could make a one-man band rich...

Thanks for the honest feedback...I'm not sure what you mean by "everything on your site is promoting your product" though...I have content that is purely informational that doesn't promote affiliate products.

Are you saying that the weight loss niche is not doable?

I looked at the front page. Every article is either about "Fat Loss Factor" or "No Think Diet". There may be other content, but it's not obvious from your home page.

Originally Posted by cbvsolutions View Post

I'm saying that "weight loss" is NOT a niche. It's a very large, competitive market made up of hundreds of niches.

Tackling the entire weight loss market with a single affiliate blog is not doable, in my opinion.

Tackling smaller niches within the market is. Take yourself, for example. You do have links to your personal journey. Do you think that that journey would be more relevant to a 55 year old man, or a woman similar to yourself?

One of the lessons most new marketers have to learn is that if you try to target "everybody" you end up targeting nobody. Start by carving off a smaller niche, like people similar to yourself. Focus your message on them. Don't worry about "missing" someone who doesn't fit your ideal profile.

Once you have that under control, you can repeat the process with another smaller segment of the entire market.

You tackle big markets the same way you eat an elephant - one bite at a time.

        I wish you good luck...

      Hi Chanta,
Your site looks "too perfect" for a start. You got everything there the clean design, the nice graphics, the content. The only thing I feel lack, is ENGAGEMENT!

Put yourself in the your web visitor shoes for a while, then let's ask some simple questions like...

      - What will you see, feel and think when your arrive to the site?
      - What is on the site that makes you want to opt in to your newsletter.
      - Is there anything on your site that makes you think:" I gonna bookmarked this site and come back for more later?

You can also asked since you are having your plan to loose weight now...

What kind of information would REALLY Excite me?
What is the Top 3 hurdles I faced for my weight loss plan?

Now...the Most Wanted Response you want your visitors to have is to Opt In To Your Newsletter. They will have to goes through a "mental process" You have to start with creating an engaging content and kind of guide them.

Think....how do you hadopt in to a newsletter for a weight loss or any other niche site before?

Let's dig a bit further...What caught your Attention that stirs an Interest in you to read on and create a Desire to take the Action, which is...Opting In to a particular online newsletter?

This is nothing new but the AIDA concept of marketing 101.

      Hope this helps.

PM me if you have more questions.

      Cheers

It always seems to be a challenge online to find the people who need your help.

The usual advice is to send traffic to your squeeze page and hey there are loads of ways to do this. Solo ads is a super fast way to build your list but do they really want to lose weight or are they just accepting a freebie?

Here is my take on this... write blog articles on weight loss, post them on your site, build up your authority, do some SEO (don't go crazy on this). Look for a 'natural' way to get people who need what you have.

Go to where people wanting to lose weight gather, like a forum and offer some solid, honest advice just as someone who really wants to see others lose weight would, offer your freebie in your signature link (if allowed), build a list THEN find out specifically what their real problems are apart from what was on your squeeze page, create it and sell it or give it away for free.

It's a bit long winded but it's also a long term strategy.

Short term? Go for solo ads and quickly find out if you can help them or not.

I've done both. It was great to see sign ups coming in fast like a traffic tap had been opened however it was a bit more of a challenge to convert the traffic to sales when compared to the slow traffic methods.

        I hope this helps.

You'll get a great ROI once you really know what you are doing.

There's also a lot of good training available for both strategies.

Riki Stein mentioned one of them with Kim Roach.

    Amy Porterfield is another.

There's a lot of info about solo ads on this forum as well.

Just pick one strategy for now and give it your full attention.

    Hi Chantal,

I agree with Warrior Riki Stein - Kim Roach is someone that has excellent knowledge of how to drive traffic to websites.

Also there is a gentleman who has alot of experience sending traffic using ezines (newsletters) that are devoted to the specific niche you are in. His name is Charlie Page.

    Hi,

You could approach blog owners within your niche who get lots of
traffic and ask them if they would like to send out an ad to their
email list in exchange for a fee.

Of course you'll need to check whether they are building a list first.

But you can usually find this out by looking at their blog to see if they
offer a newsletter or some kind of free gift in exchange for an email address.

Or you could approach YouTube channel owners who get lots of
views to their videos and aren't really marketers or anything just normal
folks who are just good at getting views to their videos.

You could always approach them and ask them if they could place
a link within their videos that points back to your squeeze page again
    in exchange for a fee.

    Hope these help you out.

    Hey Chantal,

You've got some really good ideas here. But I'm going to talk about something else.

    1. You're squeeze page say's "Subscribe to my news letter for weight loss tips and tricks. That's not going to cut it for someone to be excited about giving you their email address.

    2. Use benefits not features. How are they going to benefit by signing up. Give them about 4 curiosity benefits in the FREE report you're going to give them.

    3. Remember the features are describing something but the benefits your prospect are going to attain is what's going to sell it.

If your give your blog visitors what they are looking for when they land on your site I can assure you whether new or not they'll join your email list if you offer them more of the same.

Giving away freebies usually leads to a lot of people signing up JUST to get the freebie.

Sounds great in theory having loads of people on your list BUT they opted in for the freebie not necessarily for the follow up emails and a lot of them won't open them.

Smaller lists filled with people who opted in because they really wanted to be on your list perform far better than big lists filled with people who have little interest in receiving emails from you.

I am in the same position and recently just started to build my list in the health/fitness niche but I have a more specified sub-niche…So far I have built my list to 40 people using YouTube Traffic and Bing Ads PPC…

Although I am just getting started my list is highly responsive and am looking forward to the relationships I will build with my list. So far things have been a struggle to start off but each passing day I learn more and more….I know that I will be able to make a constant income once I scale this up and keep tweaking and testing…Keep working hard…And I'll keep you updated on my progress and any tips I have during my journey!
