Netflix affiliate program.

After not hearing from them for a long time I sent them an e-mail. They mailed me back saying they aren't in need of affiliates right now. Is this just a rejection or is Netflix really not in need of publishers at the moment?

They probably seriously don't need affiliates anymore currently.. Everyone has heard of Netflix, and if you want it, you've already got it. I think the market share of people who have never heard of Netflix/ never tried is shrinking indefinitely and perhaps its hit a point where Netflix doesn't find it economically viable to pay out to affiliates it doesn't currently need.

Just my thoughts... Could be wrong.

    Cheers,
    Ben

I'd agree with you, but I'm not from the US. It's quite new here and so not a lot of people know about it. Recent statistics say that only 70.000 (at most) are subscribed to Netflix. And there are still quite a few million people living in this country.

      Thanks for your reply though!

Not really a personal rejection. Most likely, this is a form letter sent to all new affiliates.

However, it's odd they would wait so long to send out just a form letter.

Netflix has many joint venture partners on high traffic websites, so it's likely they really don't need additional affiliates to help sell their products.

There are still many other ways to monetize your blog or site, not just with Netflix. And, other affiliate programs will happily allow you to promote.

Netflix is momentarily the only (reasonable) option at this moment in time, where I live. They are new here so I doubt they have enough people. It would still be nice if they'd just said from the start that they didn't need people in stead of keeping me waiting a whole month and having to send them several e-mails.

@Moja Not quite the same, but LoveFilm pay some decent commission if you're in the UK

Not worldwide, but UK is one of the countries where it works, I think. Anyway, there is different movies/series for each country due to various restrictions, but its not hard to connect to whatever account from whereever, so it can be easily bypassed.

Bummer about the letter. I guess this is your notice to find something bigger and better. That's how I feel about times things like this happen to me.

Well it's really stunning. I thought they'd accept and since its new in this country and I'm gettings thousands of visitors each day on the right keyword, I thought they'd be happy to accept. But on the other hand the websites look quite shit and have little content. I just put enough content on them to rank. But I was planning to theme the website once I got accepted. Might have been a bad choice.

Anyone interested in running an offer for Rabbit TV? Its similar to netflix/hulu but no monthly fee.

I met a guy at the affiliate summit saying he could get a pay out around $6-8 per sale on this product.

Anyone think they can move alot of units at this payout?

Find another way to monetize. Try to get them to opt in to your list. Put together a "how to" report or something.
