Need advice on IM coaching programs

Hi guys,

I'm thinking about joining a skype coaching program focused only on paid and free traffic generation..

I'd like to know how much would you consider a fair price for such coaching program? the guy I contacted offers coaching for $5000 (for 1 month), is that too much?
Also, If you have paid someone to mentor you.. did you see a significant increase in your online earnings after applying what you learned? or not? in other words.. was it worth it?

let me know!
thanks.

Yeah, 5K is a hefty chunk. Are you at that level yet? Do you have a niche? Do you have a product? Squeeze page? Can you write copy?

If I'm making $XXXX a month then it might be worth the cost. But if I'm making less than that there are smaller fundamentals I need to master first.

Don't piss away a lot of dough trying. Invest it to get much better.
      Make sense?

I agree here. If you don't have a place to start, you have no business spending that much money on coaching. Start with a smaller coaching program and learn the basics. OR, make sure you're getting your money's worth for $5000. Is this person going to show you the full monty? Help you design and create and market a product or offer? Or is this just going to be a very expensive class on the basics (which you can learn for free by reading blogs and forums). Make sure you KNOW what you are paying for, and then determine whether it's worth the money.

Seems a little high to me but everyone has there own price for there time and efforts. I would recommend that you get feedback from others that had his/her training if you go that route.

In my personal opinion! I already spent a lot of money when buying different products and coaching programs from many "Gurus" I never learned something unique and that works. Many of them dont practice what they preach.
I dont use Paid traffic that much but im getting better at making sales using free traffic sources using Attraction marketing. This is a perfect area for those who cant afford to spend 5k-10k on ads. Because remember even if you pay someone 5k, you will have to test your own strategies and probably lose some money until you make it. That is the way it works! Even tho they say you can make 10k/mo in 30 days doing nothing.

The way I look at things like this (which can also include going to conferences, events, etc), is to figure out what is the "expected value" of it.

Lets say you spend $5k on this coaching session. Are you actually going to do the work involved? After the month is over, what is your plan to make sure it was worth the 5k you spent on it?

Do a background check on this 'expert'. Ask for referral students. Interview those students and dig hard into asking them questions, to make sure they aren't plants by the 'expert' to tell you what you want to hear.

After you've done your homework on the 'expert', you should be able to determine is the expected value of the coaching will give you a value higher than $5,000. If you don't believe you will be able to achieve more than $5k in profit after taking the course - don't do it.

      Here is my idea ,
Put your money in bank ,just follow this forum for one or two months .You can join War Room and buy some WSO .Use trial and run method instead of putting all money in one coaching.

    Hey espe,

As a Marketing Coach myself, $5k does seem on the highend for sure...altho I have several clients on $5k+ a month coaching under my belt..but they are already flourishing online and we cover many advanced topics and drill down heavy in the analytic and offline biz generation side of things (very time consuming and changes on an individual basis).

Generally when people are first starting out...a $500 - $1497 price for coaching is much more typical to get your feet wet and gain the knowledge you will need to reach next level.

My advice to you is, if its a Skype coaching environment, ask the Coach to provide you with some broad guarantee on results AND to provide you with a boat load of REAL and CURRENT testimonials from the students. Heck..since its on Skype..I would ask him to get a few students to ADD you..and pre screen them to get their honest opinion if its overpriced and a 'scam' or if its a valuable program which has seen a positive ROI.

Lastly, if you are having trouble deciding, toss me a PM and we can go over your doubts and maybe find a better program more suited for your needs and budget.

    Cheers!

Yes, that is WAY TOO F'N much! This person just sounds like a BS artist who is trying to fleece unsuspecting noobs. $5000/month tells me that if nothing else, the person is extremely arrogant and thinks they are far more valuable than they actually are.

Also, to get a "fair" estimate, you'd have to tell us EXACTLY what you'd get with the program you're considering. If the program is just on traffic generation, and maybe 4, one hour sessions per month, then NO, it's not worth $5000/month. No way. That also tells me that the person probably doesn't know anything useful...probably only knows a little bit about traffic generation, so they now think they can start teaching it. SMH this industry is really making me sick.

Ima have to disagree there. If I'm making $5000 a month I would pay Rich Schefren $5k in a heartbeat. But it actually costs $25000 to work with Rich. And I trust no one thinks he's a BS artist.

I feel like I'm going to learn a lot from it but at the same time I don't think I'll be making more than 5k every month so I'm not 100% sure I'll for sure find out more about this guy before proceeding (I can't put his name here because of the rules but it's a user from this forum)

        It makes sense indeed!
I'm not at that level yet, so it would hurt my pocket BUT apparently what I'm learning from his coaching is "unique"....I know a lot of free information is available already but getting traffic from seo is not easy as last year so I have to find new ways and right now I feel like I can't so thats why I thought about coaching..

        thanks!

One to one coaching is very time consuming and demands the creator price it accordingly. However before you spend that kind of money really make sure that the mentor has a proven track record and in the area that you want to operate in.
It would help if you have a plan of what you want to achieve first as well.

If you think you get real info from him.. and he has good reviews.. just go and do it!
I have choosed the same path about 2 months ago and from 50-100$ per month i m not almost at 7-9k this month! And i own all my success to my coach..in fact right now i'm also going to start a coaching program soon.. so yes.. having a personal mentor, a coach that really is the real deal.. is worth more than 5k. So my advice is go for it!

There is one guy who charges $1,000 for a ONE HOUR session on solo ads. I am not going to name any names.

The guy knows what he is doing and is killing it online.

If you are going to pay someone for a consultation, see what kind of income they have made in the past.

Also, make sure that when you do find a mentor who will coach you through Skype, then either record the conversation or get a piece of paper and pen and write everything down so that you don't forget.

You see, if nothing else, that is just vanity and egoism....might be BS too to top it all off. I don't recommend dealing with people who have overinflated egos and an arrogant sense of self worth...and prices like that tell me exactly what kind of person these folks are.

If you are working with a top-end marketer then $5,000 is probably cheap.

Make sure you check and see how much access you actually have to the person. If I was paying that much, I would want direct access, phone, email etc.

There are a lot of great coaches at prices well below that which will still be able to deliver great results.

I think the most important thing is to make sure that you have phone access to a coach who can talk you through all of the steps you need to take and is going to be patient with your growth.

This way you can set a plan of action together and then work on implementation and taking action.

Irrespective of which system you buy or how much you pay, it will be the action that you take which determines your results.

The cost of the program is less important compared to your determination to see it through. But it also helps if you know this coach has had lots of successful clients. It's more than just the how to, the value of coaching is the mental aspect.

$5000 For A Month? Is he going to move in, Just Kidding?

I have joined 3 or 4 over the years and I did learn something from each one.

Another thing is what are they going to be coaching you to do?
I don't believe any coaching program can coach everything.

If I was searching for one I would make sure the coaching is what I need
coaching with. Doesn't make sense if the coaching doesn't match you.

I am in a coaching program now. It is a little over a year old and I got in
from day one. The classes each week are usually only a small number of
us so interaction is easy and more like one on one unlike some of the others.

It is priced very reasonable and the training is good with lots of products,
videos, recorded webinars and much more.

It is a perfect fit for me but as I mentioned above it might not be a fit for everyone.

Do your research and read reviews and I an sure you can find a match, Good Luck

most of these gurus don't know anything special. they teach you basic crap like 90% of WSOs claiming to make you XXX/day. At least the WSOs only cost like $15 each. If you still want to pay $5k make sure it's not going to put you in debt or you aren't relying on that money for something important.

personally I'd say don't do it. find someone cheaper. start investing that 5k into media buys and work on building up profitable campaigns.

Spend some time learning first and find out what you like, what your strengths are, what you dont understand and go from there. Ive learnt in my 3 months online that its best to find what you need to learn first, then find the suitable training instead of learning the latest and greatest which leads to wasted time and information overload. Sounds simple but gives you a sense of direction instead of chasing your tale round and round like a daft dog....

    Answer: it all depends.

If you spend $1000 to make $10000 it's an investment that's well worth it. However, it's also easy to spend $1000 and make nothing.

So the question is, how is this person gonna make you the money? Are you on the edge of success but just need a push? Have you got some ducks - but just not in a row?

Then adjust your sights. If this guy is gonna teach you to make a product then launch it - well, that isn't gonna happen in a month if it's your first time. Then you may be thinking: "Shall I do a second month..." and it starts getting pricey.

I have paid a little for coaching and I've paid a lot. The little was a complete waste of money. The lot was better, not perfect. Then I paid in the middle and me and the coach became friends and it so happened we could help each other - so it's free both ways now!

So, no-one can say: "Do it", or "Don't do it". Your experience will be different from anyone else's. You have to decide. But my tips are: decide if you are on the edge of success in which case you could possibly make headway in a month (just); realise that a month is a very short time: ask specificaly what this person is going to do for you and adjust your expectations.

And, finally, it sounds like their plan is to get clients to pay for months 2, 3, 4. Be prepared for that.

If I was earning enough i would charge a lot for coaching - because at the high ticket level you not only earn more dough, but you filter out the winers and complainers. People who pay a lot rarely refund and are usually action takers. So ignore those who say high ticket coaching is offered by egotists. It might be: but it's also about also about being so successful yourself that you can afford to raise the price so you don't have to nurse twits along who are a constant pain and who don't take action.

    Good luck!

    Malc

PS Final thought - I'd PM William2010 and talk to him about his coaching. Could it suit you? That's proven!

You should go for it. No one could help you if you don't take action. I owe my all internet success to my coach. Though i had courage to take action. Do prefer skype coach as it will help you to recognize the real person. If you have coach You make sure you're having $500 to invest to kick start your IM. If you do not have money then you should be willing to take effort and invest time. As it has said that it takes money to make money.

Stumbled upon a thread last night (WSO) section, and there's a warrior in there that has a pretty solid track record, and his coaching is only $497. Again, I won't name names either, as I have never used him, but if I were going to spend money on coaching, I'd start there... it's far cheaper than $5,000!

IMHO there are great coaches out there, but it's up to you to do the work, just because your paying someone to learn - doesn't mean they'll guarantee you success... that part is up to you.

I would venture a guess and say a large majority of people doing very well online have or have had a mentor or coach at some point. With that said, most of them probably got on their feet on their own AND THEN got a coach to take things to the next level...and then the next and next and so on.

If you aren't VERY familiar with whatever you are looking to get into, then I would get familiar first and then worry about coaching.

Then when it's time for coaching, look DEEPLY into your coach's past. There is a LOT of garbage out there, trust me. 5k is not a lot for a great coach

..but remember, anybody can say they're a great coach.

    so
    1. get on your feet first
    2. see what your budget is and find coaches within your business model within that budget
    3. do LOTS of research
    4. make sure you're a good student. This is just as important as finding a good coach.

If you're just starting out out I agree with the others who suggested you buy a few WSOs first so you have at least an idea what yo need help with.

There are great coaches out there who won't charge you anywhere near 5k but the ones that really want to help you will prescreen you first to make sure you'll be a good fit for each other.

Now there are excellent coaching programs out there for 5k and up but I believe this is a level you get to .. eventually. Most coaches will take this approach anyway. Start you in a cheaper group then offer the chance to upgrade after you've seen success.

My advice: Tread carefully. Lot's of good coaches out there but there are also some scammers.

    Good luck
