wordpress - landing page

Hi friends,

I know I can make the first page static via settings/reading.
Then I can have blog also on the wordpress site.

If I want to have a lead gen page or sales page to which I want to drive paid traffic, how to create this. I don't want this to be my home page.
Want this in a folder etc.

Thanks.

Umm...create a new page then. Maybe you should learn how to use WordPress first before making a sales page....

You can use a theme called Optimized Press. I've created many a sales/squeeze page using it. It's not free though.

Only OptimizePress would change your theme if you're ok with that. Otherwise use for exampe InstaMember (plugin).

    1. Log into your WP Dashboard and go to Settings > Permalinks. Make sure the "Post name radio" button is selected.
    2. Go to Pages > Add new. Write your article and publish it.
    3. Click the "view page" link after your article is published.
    4. Make a note of the URL as this is the one you'll want to drive traffic to.
    Simples!

Spearce000 nails the process you need to follow.

The one thing I would add is to not use one of the designer landing page plugins, have tested several and they all appear to kill the stats recording in Aweber and GetResponse.

      In otherwords keep it simple!

      Thank you Spearce and Igor.
So I use this page url as the destination url in adwords, right?
