Unpublished Kindle Fiction Book Value?

Just wondering roughly what an unique, unpublished, high quality Kindle formatted book would be worth if I tried to sell it to someone else or at least how to determine this amount? Of course just looking for a rough idea or suggestions.

Some details to factor in:
-Its over 50,000 words in length
-would include cover art
-science fiction niche
-Intended to be book 1 of a trilogy

Interesting. Of course, "high quality" is subjective. Not saying it's not high quality, just that it's a matter of opinion. Why don't you just publish it?

I think you might want to do a search for sci fi ghostwriters to see what they're getting for something like this. I'm not sure that being the first in a trilogy is a good thing though. That means that for maximum value to be realized someone would have to continue the series. That could be a challenge. Good luck.

Is this your very first book you'll be publishing? If it is, then I'd try to do a freebie promo with it. Why? Because you're an unknown without an established reputation. If they see your ebook is free, they will likely give it a shot...and that's actually where you make the money.

You said this ebook is the first in a trilogy. Give the first one away for free, then charge a fair price for the next 2. I've often read a first book in a series I got for free, then ended up buying the next books.

As far as pricing goes, fiction generally sells for a lot less than non-fiction. I'd say no more than $5. Otherwise you start competing with well-established authors published by the big publishing houses.

Get your first book into the hands of readers, that should be your top priority. Even if it means your book is free. This will hopefully lead to a few good reviews, which will give you a good foundation to start selling your future books in the trilogy.

Without reading the book, we cannot guess its value. If you are not a good writer, your book may be worth zero dollars.

If you are a good writer, you respect grammar rules, and your stories are interesting and well-presented, your book can be precious.

I wouldn't buy fiction from an unknown author, and I know that good authors would never sell their art to someone else. I hate seeing books written by amateurs, who are simply killing literature. They are trying to sell their work and make money by writing fiction even though they don't have any talent, they don't know the various writing techniques used by famous authors, and a lot more.

However, there are many people looking for books that they could sell as if they were their own creations. You could create a blog and offer your services as a writer for Kindle. This way you will make money writing, without depending on selling the book.

You can also publish a few books, and write books for whoever may desire to pay you for writing their Kindle book. It will be easier to sell your work if you will be a known Kindle author.

    I'm a fiction ghostwriter.

If you are selling to internet marketers, you are lucky to get more than $70ish for it. Now, there are clients that pay a lot more. But the bulk of people who might press "buy now" that are in internet marketing are looking for something in that range or lower.

Did you simply decide that you don't want to finish the trilogy? I mean, why on earth would you not simply publish it, pray tell?

    This is potentially interesting.

What would happen if you offered the book to a seller for $0 and 0% royalties pending a certain number of sales? Then you release the second book yourself with a fan base of some size already in place.

I have no idea if anyone would go for that.

Newbies should ask advice, not dispense it.

Thanks for the replies guys. To be clear, I do in fact 'know how to sell it'. I have other Kindle books out there but was just curious what kind of value there is prior to releasing it on Kindle (if any). I realize its tough to judge without reading though. I do see people selling unpublished non-fiction Kindle books which spurred my curiosity...

Ah, you already have published Kindle books. That certainly helps. Are they in the same genre?

Unfortunately not...trying something different with this book. Ehh, I will probably end up just publishing it myself

If I went to the trouble of writing it, I'd publish it myself for sure.
