    You've got this all wrong.

Earning $10k or indeed any other amount has NOTHING to do with number of posts or visitors.

You could make it with one post if that post was selling a $10k product or you could have 10,000 posts and make $0 if no one wanted to buy what you were promoting or your marketing was terrible.

The first thing you should be focusing on is picking a profitable niche to blog about then work out what the main problems the people within that niche face and work about solving those problems through your content and the products you offer.

Blogging is about providing value to the visitor and through doing that you can make money.

I know this one guy from Flippa who made $8,000 when he sold his website. He had 10 or so product reviews of a very specific niche (dumbbells, I think). He monetized his site via Amazon, and waited 6 months. He sold his method as a WSO, too, so additional income there. That guy rocked my books, considering he hasn't reached 20 years old yet!

That seems pretty cool, could you pm me the WSO? That seems to be a WSO worth getting.

I think you should have a proper mindset first. Ask yourself a question, have you ever made any money online? If not then you should consider making your first dollar online. Then scale it from there. I've seen people thinking very big from the very beginning and then something doesn't work they get frustrated and then eventually quit.

Setting goals is awesome so lets say I want to make $10K by the end of the year and then do the best you can. Earning $10K a month online is very possible. You just have to work hard and be consistent and do it with determination.

    All the best to you

1 post per day is enough for making money $10,000 per month. My friend has done her blogging in Penguin 2.1 era and she earns $10,000 monthly. Her main traffic is from Google. And using subscription system with PayPal - around $10 per subscriber in monthly.

      Hey hows it going?
Google is a good source of traffic to use for advertising to but I was wondering are people allowed to post there affiliate links on Twitter by using a link shortener and then just write a short sentence about the product and then cut and paste there shortened affiliate link onto some ones wall on Twitter?

Your post reminded me of an e-mail I received the other day from Derek Halpern of SocialTriggers.com:

Subject: Well, this guy is delusional

Whether you're looking to do something you love, trying to build a business, or just sharing your message (and expertise) with the world, it's no secret that I believe you NEED a blog...

...And you should begin building it (or growing it) TODAY.

I'll share why in a second. First:

The other day I received an email that was a little disconcerting. They wrote:

"I just subscribed to your blog. I have a blog, and I want a $1 million content business by the end of the year. I'm at $0 currently with 60 subscribers."

    What's wrong with this picture?

Well, I got this email in the second week of January, and 2 weeks in, and it's not looking good.

But aside from that, the BIG problem with this email is this:

    He was a Delusional Dreamer.

You see, I'm not going to say doing something like that is impossible...

(Back when I started Social Triggers, I soared to the top of the market. I went from being a nobody to being the guy who got written up on FastCompany.com. I went from speaking into a mirror to speaking to audiences of 1,000. The fact that I built a highly profitable business was the bonus).

...but it's going to be TOUGH.

My dirty little secret is that I've done this before. Several times in several industries. I had the systems, skills, and experience to make it all work.

    And check it:

I didn't even have a $1 million content business in the first 12 months.

I also never even thought I'd build something that large in the first 12 months because I wasn't a delusional dreamer.

Instead, I fancied myself a Reasonable Realist.

Now, take a look at this revenue growth for Social Triggers over the last few years: This guy is delusional about building a blog, but see how I'd bring him back to reality

And then keep reading because I'll reveal why most people get mired in mediocrity...

...while others seemingly experience windfalls of growth and revenue.

    Talk soon,
    Derek Halpern

P.S. Next week I'm opening enrollment for Blog that Converts. If you've wanted to enroll, but couldn't because it was closed, now's the time.

    </e-mail from Derek>

I completely agree with everything he's said. Take it in baby steps. Become a realist and develop a realistic plan to achieve your goals.

    Hope that helps!

Please don't take this advice negatively. If you search out and get good information, then apply it consistently, you should do very well.

The "trick" is to 1) be consistent and 2) realize that your lowest income will be the first year because you're unknown and building an audience and momentum. It will multiply in the second and third years if you're consistent. But don't think you've failed if you've only made $5,000 or $10,000 in the first year.

Just get it going! And take a serious look at Derek's course "Blog That Converts." He's teaching exactly what you want to do. Follow his advice and you'll be well on your way. Just remember: you need to be in it for the long haul. Even if it takes you 5 years to reach your goals, the next 5 years will pass whether you do it or not. So where would you rather be in 5 years?

Ordinary people learn from their own experience. Smart people learn from other people's experience.

        Hope that helps!

Also, judging by your first post, you're already making a classic mistake: thinking that more content equals a successful blog. As Derek points out, it's not abut creating more content. It's about PROMOTING that content. On average, he blogged just 2.5 times PER MONTH.

All of the content in the world means nothing if no one is seeing it.

Here's another e-mail I received from Derek this week:

Subject: The reason why bloggers fail (plus BTC enrollment now open)

Last week I shared the secret behind building a blog that builds a business hinges off one thing: GETTING STARTED.

And, once you get started, the NEXT important tenet of building a profitable blog is this:

In 2014, you MUST PROMOTE your content.

You see, the reason people fail is because they waste time creating more content... instead of spending their time promoting the great content they already have.

(Now of course the content has to be good, and it should leverage what I call proven content archetypes. But I'll share more about that in a second).

I call this the 80/20 Rule for Building a Blog Audience because I believe people should spend 20% of their time creating content, and 80% of their time promoting it.

That's why I cringe when I hear people say:

"I don't have enough time to write for a blog."

"I have a few things to write about, but I'm scared I'll run out of things to say."

Because you don't need that much time to write. You only need a few pieces of GREAT content and you're SET.

Back when I started Social Triggers, here's how fast I grew:

(Picture of chart I can't copy here.)

Or in other words, I updated my blog on average about 2.5 times per month, and I grew from scratch to about 27,000 subscribers in about 12 months.

Now of course these results aren't typical. But as you can see I focused on promoting my content - and that's the secret.

          Look at it like this:

If you spend time writing a piece of content, and that content only gets 1,000 readers, chances are there are one million other people in the world who can benefit from what you wrote.

Why spend more time creating content when you can focus on getting something you already have into the hands of more people?

          Makes sense, right? :-)

          Right!

Now, this simple idea - the right content combined with the right promotion - is the entire reason I built the training course Blog that Converts.

          Introducing Blog that Converts

If you're looking to slap a jet pack on your blog's growth, then...

...see what Blog that Converts is all about right here.

More than 1,000 entrepreneurs and business owners have already enrolled because Blog that Converts is a step-by-step system on building a blog that attracts leads and makes sales...

...even if you're just getting started with your blog

...even if you feel like you "don't have time" for a blog

...even if you've been blogging for a while with lackluster results.

          The bottom line is this:

If you're a coach, consultant, author, freelancer, or an information product entrepreneur, this course will show you how to build a blog that attracts leads and makes sales for your business.

          Long story short:

Blog that Converts is a 4 week multimedia online training that walks you through how to build a blog--or revamp an existing blog--so that it actually BUILDS YOUR BUSINESS.

You'll learn how to create the RIGHT content by leveraging what I call "content archetypes."

(These archetypes aren't a lesson in how to write or create. They're a lesson in the hidden psychology behind what makes people read and share blog content with people who can buy what you sell).

You'll also learn the 7 proven promotional strategies for attracting potential CUSTOMERS... not just "hits."

(These strategies will be your bread and butter. They work if you're just starting out and looking for your first 1,000 subscribers... and they work if you've been at it for a while and want your first 50,000 subscribers).

Enrollment closes Sunday, January 26th, at 11:59PM Pacific.

And while I know Blog that Converts is perfect for people looking to build a blog, you don't have to take my word for it.

I've got a rock-solid guarantee. You can go through the training for 30 days, and if you don't like it, email support, and I'll give you back a full refund. No questions asks and no hard feelings.

All the risk is on me, as it should be. See what Blog that Converts is all about right here.

And keep an eye out for more emails from me later this week. I'll share detailed case studies, and more tips for building a blog that fuels your business.

          Talk soon,
          Derek Halpern

P.S. If you're the type of person who only reads the P.S., here's what you need to know. Blog that Converts is now open for enrollment and it closes on January 26th, at 11:59PM Pacific.

P.P.S. Why did other business owners and entrepreneurs enroll? Here's some choice quotes:

"I use my blog as content marketing for my media training, so I would like to use it to generate leads and increase sales." - Janet

Janet is right on point, too. Blogging can help professional service companies like "media training" as well as other professional service type companies.

"I would like to build credibility within myself as a brand and as an authority in specific industries. In return, I hope to grow a few business ideas I am working on which eventually will allow me to work for myself." - Gabriella

This is something that's often overlooked. When you build a blog, you (and your company) become searchable. That means people can type your name or company into a search, and people will see all the great value you offer.

I'm not even kidding: I was talking to a PR company a few months ago, and they were promising me the world. I thought about hiring them... until I googled them.

(You ever NOT buy something because you googled a company first? If you have a blog, with valuable content, that content will show up first).

"I love Derek's videos, trust he knows what he is doing, and want in! I can't wait to learn about content and what really matters and attracts followers." - Holly

I wanted to end on this quote for one main reason: When you build a blog the right way, you build trust.

And as you can see, Holly enrolled in Blog that Converts because of that trust. She was accustomed to my great content on Social Triggers, and that made investing in a premium training a no brainer for her.

Now put yourself in those shoes for a second. If you build a blog the right way, you don't have to sell your products and services so hard. All because you spend the time building the relationship with your readers and prospects.

Here's where you can get all the details about Blog that Converts.

And remember. Enrollment now open and it closes this Sunday, January 26th
          , at 11:59PM Pacific.

          </e-mail from Derek>

I strongly suggest you buy his course.

          Good luck!

          Michelle

Nope. Only if you work at what you're supposed to. Spending a lot of time growing petunias won't build a $10,000 per month blog.

I have always thought "earn 10k/month blogging" is kinda spammy until I bumped into Derek Halpern's site. it's a very good site full of info, you might want to subscribe to his newsletter to learn more Online Marketing Strategy – Social Triggers

Your mindset that it's all about the number of blog posts per day will get you nowhere. If you're TMZ and you've got loads of good content for your celeb crazed readers, then maybe it's worth talking about quantity. In most other cases it's probably a better idea to concentrate your efforts on a small number of high quality posts rather than watering things down.

His stuff is interesting at times, but at the end of the day he is merely a business commentator and his material needs to be taken at face value and not relied upon as fact.

Take for instance his recent message about the need to offer more than one option for consumers or they'll go shopping around. His "proof" is a study done over Craigslist where people were given a survey over which DVD player they would buy. The study was ridiculously unscientific, yet Halpern is presenting it on his site in the manner of it being the gospel truth.

I think his stuff could be really good if he would cut down on the sizzle and give viewers more steak.

The first step, which is often overlooked, is to be good at producing quality content. If you don't have this step, then nothing else matters and you'll never be successful in this realm. It's like if you asked, "how do I make money building houses?"

Well, first answer: be good at building houses.

But if you can't even build a birdfeeder yet, then you shouldn't even be thinking about your new life as a million dollar contractor with his own show on HGTV.

Just something to keep in mind.

You need to know if you are going to sell ad space or push products. If you push products you can make income much faster with less viewers, if you sell ad space you need a large viewer base.

This question however is literally impossible to answer.

Take your time and dont rush. And dont delude yourself by the idea that the number of posts/comments/visitors that you receive will translate into instant cash. Learn the basics of blogging and internet marketing, and give your visitors what they want - all while promoting products at the same time.

Nice info here. It's true it doesn't matter if you have your blog in the first page of google but if you are not converting and making money out of it, it's useless. I've been there and it is really a frustrating journey.

I would say you need to focus on building a decent size list from the blog that you can sell high end products/services to repeatedly. It wouldn't be easy because whatever you were selling would have to be high value.

Well like said before on this thread:

    - you need to choose a niche ( if you have a team of content creators check if it could match the passion of one of them )
    - you need research a bit to understand who is gonna be the reader your adressing
    - you need to be consistent more than ambitious in the first 2 months ( 1-2 posts daily is better and easier than 10 posts daily for 30 days and then nothing or below the expectation you build your audience...)

    Success with your project,

    Philippe

Fine. All of us would like to earn 10$k.

Important is not to know how many visitors to achieve. It's to get visitors that are interested in your blog. Than if it's this way depending on your content you can be able to get a conversion rate of between 0.5% to 20%. The general one is between 1-3 %. So this means if you have conversion rate 1% than from 100 people one will pay.
Now it's up to you to make the calculation depending on the product you sell or promote.

You can get tons of visitors even 100k but if this are people that are even not interested in your subject no matter how many visitors you got nothing will happen. The conversion rate becomes too low. It's something like, someone is searching for food but visiting antiques section
You may post 1 or 20 times a day but if you are not found at search results than this will have no sense.
Posting a lot affects but most importantly you should work on SEO. Create fresh and quality content.

Depending on your niche and how hard you work on SEO and advertising will give you the time of success.

making 10k$ from a blog s quite hard. you need to be selling some products. I suggest using high ticket high paying products. I think som products paying 300-500$ comissions will make it easier, you will ot need a LOT of sales.
Lok for thos products, do seo, sell them, earn.
